Devastated fans of Liam Payne mourned the star’s shocking death at the age of 31 by sharing his poignant lyrics from One Direction’s hit Story of My Life.
Liam died on Wednesday evening in Buenos Aires after falling from his room at the Casa Sur Palmero Hotel.
Following news of his sudden death, fans on social media shared clips of Liam from the music video of the boy band’s song, in which he sang a melancholy verse.
“She told me in the morning/ She don’t feel the same about us in her bones/ It seems to me that when I die/ These words will be written on my stone,” Liam sings at the end of the first verse.
Later, in verse two, he sings, “I know that in the morning/ I’ll see us in the light on the hill/ Though I’m broken, my heart is still untamed.”

Story of My Life is a nostalgic ballad from One Direction that explores the journey of life and how experiences shape who we are.

The song was released in 2013 ahead of the boy band’s third album, Midnight Memories.
During their time as a group, One Direction won five Brit Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, amassed more than three billion YouTube views and sold 50 million records worldwide.
After Malik announced his departure from the band in 2015, the band members went their separate ways.
Liam reportedly arrived in the Latin American country earlier this month to attend his ex-bandmate Horan’s concert.
Several witnesses said Payne fell from his room at the Casa Sur Palmero Hotel shortly after 5:00 PM (ART) on Wednesday evening.
Local police have since launched an investigation into the sudden death, as tributes flood in the aftermath of the tragedy.
According to a statement from local police, they arrived at the hotel after being “informed of an aggressive man who may be under the influence of drugs and alcohol.”
Officials heard a loud noise in the courtyard before discovering his body just after 5 p.m., the BBC reported.

According to TMZLiam ‘had behaved erratically in the hotel lobby and destroyed his laptop’ before he had to be ‘carried back to his room’.
Police had received a call from a hotel employee requesting urgent assistance for a drunken guest, according to audio material on the case obtained from Buenos Aires’ Ministry of Security.
“If he’s conscious, he’ll destroy the whole room and we’ll have to send someone,” the worker said.
Emergency Medical Services Director Alberto Crescenti said Liam suffered “very serious injuries after falling from a third floor into a courtyard.”
“We verified his identity using the passport he had,” he said.
‘Afterwards we found out that he had been a famous singer. Unfortunately, the injuries he sustained as a result of the fall proved fatal. There was no way to resuscitate him.”
Mr Crescenti told Argentina’s Clarin newspaper that “the team saw that he apparently had a fracture at the base of the skull.”
His body was taken to a local mortuary where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

Another tragic selfie was captioned: “Beautiful day in Argentina” before the star shared a photo from his hotel and wrote: “Glad I had some time,” followed by a heart emoji.
