Devastated Cameron Mathison breaks down in tears as he returns to the rubble of his home after devastating LA wildfires were ‘still burning all around’

Actor Cameron Mathison broke down in tears as he returned to the rubble of his home, as wildfires continue to rage across LA and cause further evacuations.

The Canadian actor and television host yesterday documented his return to his neighborhood in Pasadena, California, which was devastated by the Eaton wildfire.

As he looked at the destruction during the car ride, the 55-year-old burst into tears and shouted in disbelief, “oh my God,” “oh my God.”

He also shared a video of himself approaching his property, which showed the extent of the damage to the building’s structure as ash and flames could be seen in the background.

Speaking to CNN Today Mathison said: ‘I had never heard sounds like that coming out of me before.

“It was very strange, it was like a sore throat and disbelief and a kind of shock and fear as I approached my property and didn’t see the house.”

Mathison told CNN that he woke up at 5 a.m. to reports of journalists in his neighborhood reporting on the wildfires, showing “my neighborhood is on fire.”

He said he recognized the houses in the images, but could not see whether his own house had been spared.

“I just couldn’t take it anymore and I just got in the car and drove into the neighborhood,” he said.

‘Houses were on fire everywhere and there was tons of smoke, roads were closed.

“I got to my street and when I got to my block it was completely decimated.”

Mathison and his now estranged wife Vanessa Arevalo lived in the house with their two children.

The All My Children star purchased the home with Arevalo in 2012 for $1.672 million.

Adam Brody and Leighton Meester’s LA home was also destroyed by the devastating Pacific Palisades wildfire.

Shocking photos showed the once beautiful family home in the glitzy celebrity enclave reduced to a smoking wreck on Wednesday.

The roof had burned away and flames raged through the rooms, while windows were smashed and black smoke poured from the house.

The Nobody Wants This star and Gossip Girl actress was last pictured in public at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards, less than two days before the fires broke out.

The couple purchased the home in 2019 for $6.5 million.

The house had five bedrooms, six bathrooms and three floors spread over 6,000 square feet.

So far, at least five people have been killed in the disaster, which destroyed two thousand structures and left thousands of people in the city with nothing but ash.

The death toll is expected to rise as police and fire departments prepare to deploy K-9 units trained in detecting human remains.

As of Thursday morning, the largest inferno has consumed nearly 12,000 acres (4,856 hectares) in the picturesque Pacific Palisades neighborhood, home to many film, television and music stars.

In Studio City, several homes caught fire late Wednesday after a fire broke out in a four-story building and spread to neighboring properties.

More than 130,000 people are still under evacuation orders in Southern California after several notable TV, movie and music stars announced on social media that they had lost their homes.

Mandy Moore, Cary Elwes, Paris Hilton, James Woods, Billy Crystal and his wife Janice all claimed to have seen their homes go up in smoke during the Palisades Fire.

Private forecaster AccuWeather estimated the initial damage and economic loss at more than $50 billion (£40 billion).
