Xur, the strange exotic seller and Agent of the Nine, is back Lot 2. Xur brings with it an unpredictable roster of Exotics, as well as a range of older Legendary armor and weapons that can help you replenish your collection if you miss them.
The trader appears in the game weekly from Friday to reset and hangs out in random locations around the world Lot 2 – also in the tower.

As of Season of the Lost, Xur also sells a collection of ancient armor and weapons, similar to Banshee-44 and Ada-1. Usually these items are hard to find and come from seasons long past. Each item (armor or weapon) only costs 1,000 Glimmer and 50 Legendary Shards.

What is worth buying from Xur this week?
Here’s some more specific advice on Xur’s wares this week, March 17-21:
Sunshot
Sunshot is an exotic hand cannon that deals sun damage. Sunshot’s first exotic perk is Sunburn, causing the weapon to fire explosive rounds and highlight enemies taking damage. The secondary benefit, Sunbeamcauses enemies killed by Sunshot to explode.
The shadow of the dragon
In terms of Hunter exotics, The shadow of the dragon is reasonable. The exotic advantage, Wraith Metal Mail, reloads all of the fighter’s weapons when they dodge, and also increases movement and handling speed for a short while afterwards. This bonus is especially valuable in PvP. However, hunters have already done that Fetracer and other excellent PvP exotics to take with you. If you’re a hardcore PvP player or catch 2v1s regularly, pick this up. If none of that applies to you, skip it.

Helm of Saint-14
Another return Destination Exotic, the Helm of Saint-14 is useful at Lot 2. The exotic advantage, Starless night, causes your Ward of Dawn to blind enemies that walk into it. Monitoring with Sentinel Shield produces the same result.
The Ward of Dawn is now a very powerful option Lot 2, with the Weapons of Light buff that increases player damage. This is a great helmet if you want to keep yourself and your allies even safer than a normal Ward of Dawn. And it happens to be one of the coolest exotics out there Lot 2.

Transversive steps
Transversive steps are the fast Warlock boots, and they are a very good all-around Exotic. Their exotic advantage, Strange protractor, increases your sprint speed and automatically reloads your energy weapons. The reload is secondary to how powerful the movement speed is Lot 2. Be sure to pick them up if you don’t already have them.

Exotic Cipher Quest

Starting in Beyond the light, Xur has a new search for an Exotic Cipher. The Exotic Cipher allows you to purchase ancient Exotics from the Monuments to Lost Light kiosk in the Tower. You’ll need these items and some other currency to pick up Exotics like Heir Apparent and Truth.
This week, Xur wants you to complete 21 Strikes or win Crucible or Gambit matches. Completing the quest will earn you an Exotic Cipher that you can use however you like.
