A young woman on the run has no choice but to trust an ex-con and his family in the new Desperation Road trailer.
In the thriller, Garrett Hedlund plays ex-con Russell Gaines, with Willa Fitzgerald playing Maben’s fugitive wife, plus Mel Gibson playing Russell’s father – with the actor making headlines for starring in the new John Wick series The Continental.
The film was directed by Nadine Crocker (Continue) from a script by Michael Farris Smith, which he adapted from his own 2017 novel of the same name.
The trailer opens with Maben returning to her motel room, when a cop asks her what she’s doing.
“When I went back to my room, I didn’t do anything,” she says, before the cop grabs her violently and says, “You guys never do that.”
