DeSantis mocks Biden’s embarrassing fall by wishing him a ‘speedy recovery’ — but also hopes America recovers from president’s policies

  • The Florida governor told a crowd in New Hampshire on Thursday that he wished Joe Biden well after the president fell on stage at an Air Force event
  • DeSantis added: ‘We also wish the United States of America a speedy recovery from the injuries sustained by Joe Biden and his policies’
  • DeSantis, 44, used the rest of his speech to accuse Donald Trump of failing to deliver for the American people

Ron DeSantis on Thursday mocked Joe Biden for tripping on stage at an Air Force event, saying he wished him a speedy recovery — but he also wished the country “a speedy recovery from the injuries sustained by Joe Biden and his policies.” ‘.

DeSantis spoke at a campaign stop in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Shortly before, the 80-year-old Biden had tripped over a sandbag on stage in Colorado Springs and fell to the ground. He was helped to his feet and was uninjured, going on for the rest of the event.

“We hope and wish Joe Biden a speedy recovery from all the injuries he sustained,” said the Florida governor.

“But we also wish the United States of America a speedy recovery from the injuries sustained by Joe Biden and his policies.”

DeSantis clearly showed less concern than Donald Trump, who learned of Biden’s fall during a campaign stop.

“Did he really fall?” Well, I hope he wasn’t hurt,” the former president said on the campaign trail in Iowa, when told of the 80-year-old’s fall.

Images of Biden being helped back on his feet after his trip will raise more concerns about his age and health during his second presidential election.

‘It’s all crazy. You have to be careful with that. Even if you have to tiptoe down an incline,” Trump added.

Trump was referring to the moment when, three years ago, he left the podium at West Point Military Academy and appeared to cautiously shuffle down the slope.

DeSantis, 44, used his speech on Thursday to accuse Donald Trump of failing to deliver for the American people during his time in the White House.

The Florida governor made his remarks after suggesting he would need two terms as commander-in-chief to complete what he calls the “great American comeback.”

A reporter asked the recently declared Republican presidential nominee about Trump’s claims that he could turn the country around within six months of entering the Oval Office.

A visibly irritated DeSantis bounced back, “Why didn’t he do it in his first four years?”

DeSantis has been involved in a series of awkward exchanges with the media since his botched launch on Twitter with Tesla billionaire Elon Musk.

Earlier in the day, he clashed with an Associated Press reporter, who asked why he had not participated in a traditional question-and-answer session with voters at an event in Laconia, New Hampshire.

Shortly after the fiery conversation, a participant asked the Navy veteran how to correctly pronounce his last name before asking for a selfie.

The former congressman has switched between “Dee-Santis” and “Deh-Santis” since announcing his fondness for the White House.

And Trump previously took to his Truth Social platform and mocked his former protege after his own campaign team refused to say how to pronounce it.

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said, “If you can’t get your name right, how can you run a country?

DeSantis made a stopover in Rochester, New Hampshire, where he gave an almost identically written speech earlier that day at his address in Laconia.

He railed against “awakened ideology” and denounced the Biden administration for overspending.

“Washington DC doesn’t produce much except mountains of debt and lots of hot air,” he told an audience of about 500 locals.
