A dermatologist has shared some of her favorite cosmetic procedures that require little time.
The information was shared by a board-certified dermatologist Dr. Mamina Turegano, who practices in Louisiana. Turegano often takes to her various social media pages to share her skincare tricks, tips, and wisdom with followers.
In the videoposted to TikTok earlier this month, she revealed that there were “a few” procedures that were “perfect” for those with busy schedules and would get you back to normal life in no time.
“First, there's Botox,” Dr. revealed. Turegano. “People can come in on their lunch break, get Botox and go back to work, and no one will know they did anything.”

She went over each procedure, what it entailed, as well as the recovery time
“There is a small chance that people will bruise,” noted Dr. Turegano op.
'I notice that when we see bruising it's a little more common around the eyes, but overall the chance of that happening is very low and the complication rate with Botox is very low, especially straight away.'
Botox, which is short for “botulinum toxin,” is an injection made of neurotoxins, which work to weaken the muscles in the face or other parts of the body, per Cleveland Clinic.
It is often used to prevent signs of aging on the face.
In the clip, Dr. Turegano notes that it usually takes about a week for Botox to see an effect.
“I tell patients not to lie down for the next six hours if possible, and I would tell them not to get a facial massage or facial massage because your face is essentially pressed into the massage facial holder,” she warned.
“It's the first few hours that your muscles really absorb the neuromodulator, so I say you should avoid those activities.”
Next on the dermatologist's list was microneedling, a procedure that uses extremely small needles in the face to stimulate collagen production, the dermatologist said. Healthline.
The first cosmetic procedure that Dr. Turegano recommended in the video was Botox, which can be performed during a person's lunch break
The doctor did note that there is a small risk of bruising with Botox
Dr. Turegano also suggested microneedling, used to stimulate collagen production in the face, as another simple procedure with little recovery time.
Microneedling can help improve fine lines and acne scars and strengthen the skin.
“I think microneedling is an easy procedure,” explains Dr. Turegano out.
“Microneedling is like tiny microscopic needles that are poked into your skin,” she continued. 'What this does: it stimulates collagen. It can really help with your skin texture too [and] helps with things like acne scars.”
However, with microneedling there are some side effects to be aware of.
“You will be a little red immediately after the procedure, but that redness usually only lasts 24 hours,” said Dr. Turegano.
'For some people it can take 48 hours. So that's a nice one, you could just do it on Friday, everything will be good by Monday.'
However, with a microneedling treatment that combines radiofrequency, it can be a bit more intense, the doctor warned.
Dr. Turegano also recommended gentle laser treatment as a procedure that would require little recovery time
“You will be a little red immediately after the procedure, but that redness usually only lasts for 24 hours,” said Dr. Turegano on microneedling
“You might see a little more redness after 48 hours, but I still think that's a pretty impressive downtime, too.”
In a similar vein, the expert noted that there are certain lasers that can have extremely limited recovery time.
“The Laser Genesis, which we have in our office, is like a soft 1064 laser,” she said in the clip.
Often, laser treatments are used to change the way skin looks and can prevent signs of aging, dark spots and acne scars. Mount Sinai.
'This allows you to go straight back to work or simply resume your day. Maybe you're a little red that day.'
Dr. Turegano also shared some cosmetic procedures that had a longer recovery time.
They include filler, chemical peels and certain skin resurfacing and vascular lasers.
'With fillers there is the problem of possible bruising and swelling, which can last for a few days. [for] some people longer,” explained Dr. Turegano out.
However, vascular lasers require an average of about a week of downtime, unlike the soft lasers that Dr. Turegano talked about in the beginning of the clip
“Certainly with other lasers, resurfacing lasers or vascular lasers, these can have a little bit more downtime,” said Dr. Turegano
For “some people you may not notice anything, so it depends on the person and the filler,” she added.
Likewise, chemical peels are also a treatment that is 'person dependent' and dependent on the treatment in terms of the amount of recovery time a person needs.
“There are so many strengths, with chemical peels there is a wide range of concentrations and there are different acids as well,” she said.
'So it just depends on which chemical peel you have done.'
She usually tells her patients that chemical peels require an average of about a week of recovery.
'It's not bad downtime, again, it depends on the chemical peel, but usually you're a little bit peel-y, I would say, starting about day two, day three after the procedure, and that can last on average about a week ', she said.
'It can of course be longer for certain peels.'
She then clarified her point about certain laser treatments.

“Especially with other lasers, resurfacing lasers or vascular lasers, they can have a little more downtime,” she explained.
“With vascular lasers there is a risk of bruising, possibly, or redness, and that can last a few days to a week depending on the person,” said Dr. Turegano.
When it comes to laser reapplication, these can also last from several days to a week, or even longer in some cases.
“With resurfacing lasers, depending on the strength of the laser and the depth of the laser, the downtime can be quite long, and you can end up looking quite gnarly for a few days to a week or more,” she concluded.
