Dr. Shirazi’s Skin Care Mistakes to Avoid

  • Using too many products
  • Do not use SPF
  • Using skin care products that are not tailored to your needs

She explained that there are only three skin care products you really need to use every day: a cleanser, a moisturizer, and an SPF.

Applying protection is an extremely important step in your skincare routine as it protects you from skin cancer, premature aging and of course sunburn. John’s Hopkins Medicine.

It’s especially important in areas where you have thin, sensitive skin, Shirazi explains, because these areas are more susceptible to sun damage.

“I remove a lot of skin cancer from these areas: the eyelids, the lips, the ears, the neck and the chest, and also the back of the hand,” she explains.

And last but not least, she advised viewers to make sure their skincare routine and the products they use are tailored to them.

“If you have acne or want to do something anti-aging, add a treatment step between your cleanser and moisturizer,” she advised

She stressed the importance of not using a certain product just because your friends are using it.

The skin expert explained that people often get “distracted” when they see influencers and friends on social media using viral products.

“Your skin is not your friend’s skin,” Shirazi emphasized.

“Make sure you use specific products that are right for your skin type and your concern, because every skin is different,” the doctor continued.

So the next time you’re tempted to skip sunscreen on a rainy day or try a new popular product, you might want to think again.
