He’s back! Vigilante Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) has come out of retirement to protect his peaceful new home in an action-packed trailer for the final installment of The Equalizer trilogy

The trailer begins to show Robert in his last quiet chapter in Italy, befriending the locals and living a slower life.

“What did you do at home?” One of the locals asks him, before the viewers get a brief insight into his violent past.

‘Government work. I’m retired now,’ replies Robert.

His past life seems to be completely behind him as he embraces his quiet new lifestyle.

“It is through these people that I am beginning to understand true peace,” Robert muses. “And I’m starting to believe I’m supposed to be here.”

“They see you as one of us now,” a woman tells Robert, who seems awestruck at the realization.

But it’s not long before violence threatens his community. A car is bombed in the middle of the town square, setting off a chain of events that causes Robert to revert to his old ways.

The explosion also signals the presence of the Mafia.

“What happens here happens in many cities,” a man tells Robert. ‘The Mafia. They are like cancer. No cure.’

But Robert is not ready to accept this fate.

Robert rebels against one of the members after he interrupts a quiet dinner at a restaurant.

“You shouldn’t interfere with people,” the mafia member tells Robert.

“Whatever it is, you and your friends will do it,” Robert begins coolly. “Do it somewhere else.”

“Did you warn me?” asks the man.

“I’m getting ready,” Robert replies, much to the man’s hilarity. Moments later, Robert makes the man moan in pain as he grabs his hand and overpowers him.

Trouble begins: a car explodes in the middle of the town square, triggering a chain of events that sends Robert back to his old habits.

Danger looms: “What happens here happens in many cities,” a man informs Robert. ‘The Mafia. They are like cancer. No cure.’

“That’s the median nerve I’m compressing,” Robert calmly informs him. That’s a level three. When it gets to level four, you shit on yourself.”

It becomes clear that Robert has temporarily come out of retirement to take out the mafia that destroyed his haven.

“You strike me as a man who understands violence,” one mafia member remarks.

“I love this place,” says Robert. “You can’t take that from me.”

“I can take anything I want,” the mafia member replies.

And it’s clear he’s not afraid to take things to a fatal level.

Over coffee with Dakota Fanning’s character, he is asked about recent murders on a ranch.

“The police found several bodies on that farm in Sicily,” Dakota notes. “Did you kill them?” she asks.

Despite being outnumbered, Robert is shown effortlessly taking down the enemies.

He says to Dakota with a chuckle, “Do I look like a murderer?”
