It is feared that Tim Patrick, wide receiver for the Denver Broncos, may have torn his Achilles tendon during NFL training camp – an injury that would rule him out this season.

Patrick went down halfway through practice on Monday and had to be taken off the field. He threw his helmet and was later seen using crutches to enter the facility.

The wide receiver is said to have torn his Achilles tendon and according to ESPNcould he now miss the entire NFL season.

It’s been almost a year since Patrick suffered an ACL injury that required surgery on his right knee.

The 29-year-old collapsed while running on August 2 last year. That injury forced him out for the entire 2022 season.

Broncos coach Sean Payton said Monday he had no update on the receiver, but the team’s medical staff is evaluating Patrick’s left Achilles tendon.

He must undergo an MRI scan to reveal the full extent of the injury.

Patrick was only in April cleared to ‘do anything’ ahead of his return from knee surgery.

“Right now I have permission to do anything,” Patrick said. “I’m just doing repetition to get myself ready to play in a game.”

Denver just started training camp for the 2023 season on Friday. It’s the team’s first camp under a new head coach Payton and a new owner.

During the 2021 campaign, Patrick signed a three-year, $34.5 million extension with the Broncos.

That deal went into effect in 2022, and Patrick has yet to play a regular season game under that agreement.

The former undrafted free agent was signed by the Baltimore Ravens in 2017. He joined the Broncos practice squad in October of that year.
