Denise Welch shuts down trolls criticizing her for posing in swimsuits at 64 as she sets out to ’empower’ women with unfiltered snaps

She often shows off her amazing figure through social media.

And Denise Welch has admitted she’s been bombarded with hate for posting unfiltered snaps of her swimsuit online.

The 64-year-old Loose Women panelist has taken down online trolls who leave nasty comments for the sultry snaps as she breaks the mold.

Ignoring the backlash, the star explained that she does it to empower other women who may lack the confidence to do the same.

Appearing on friend Kaye Adams’ How To Be 60 podcast, Denise spoke candidly about being comfortable in her own skin and embracing aging.

Denise Welch, 64, has silenced trolls criticizing her for posing in swimsuits as she sets out to “empower” women with unfiltered snaps.

‘If someone says I help empower women, then that’s a badge I’ll wear.

“I get a lot of flak for still posing in swimsuits at 64, but I don’t care because if one person says, ‘I felt really bad about myself and I saw you in a swimsuit and you’re in your sixties.’

“And you know, I don’t filter them, partly because I don’t know how to do it,” he explained.

Denise added that she was the ‘poster girl’ because it was never too late to do something, as she recalled having her second child, Louise Vincent, at age 42.

While she also recalled meeting her husband Lincoln Townley later in life, calling him the “love of my life.”

The television personality is often open about her turbulent life and her 30-year battle with mental health, recently speaking out about suffering from postpartum depression following the birth of her first child, Matt Healy.

Denise admitted that she was recently upset by a news story in the US about a woman suffering from puerperal psychosis and postpartum depression.

Puerperal psychosis or postpartum psychosis is a serious mental illness that can affect someone soon after having a baby and affects around 1 in 500 mothers after giving birth.

She said: “I get a lot of flak for still posing in bathing suits at 64, but I don’t care because if one person says ‘I felt really bad about myself and I saw you in a bathing suit and you’re in your sixties’. “

Inspirational: “If someone says I help empower women, then that’s a badge I’ll wear,” she continued.

Denise spoke on her podcast about the “big impact postpartum depression had on her life after having her oldest son, Matt,” who is now 33 years old.

In a clip shared on Twitter, she said: “I was really upset by an American story about a woman who took the lives of her three children who were suffering from puerperal psychosis and postpartum depression.”

“I have been talking for over 30 years since I had Matty about the origin of my major depressive disorder, which is postpartum depression.

We don’t talk enough about that and about postnatal psychosis. Over the years I have talked to thousands of women and the psychosis side of it is absolutely horrendous because people completely lose their minds.

‘I’m not justifying anything. I’m just saying that I think it’s one approach for me to tell you about my journey of my horrors and experiences with postpartum depression and I do touch on postpartum psychosis.

The former Coronation Street star shares sons, 1975 star Matt and actor Louis, 21, with ex-husband and Benidorm star Tom Healy.
