In the past, she told DailyMail.com that one way to maintain a flat stomach during the holidays is to skip “sugar substitutes.”

That means saying no to diet sodas and processed sweets that claim to contain no sugar.

This came just as the blonde shared a new image of herself in a yellow crop top that made the most of her tiny waist.

More advice: The star went into more detail on her blog web.deniseaustin.com. She said women over 50 should try different foods. Foods high in fiber are a must, she said. “In your 50s, staying regular can become a challenge, so in addition to high-fiber whole grains, start eating other high-fiber foods such as beans and legumes, broccoli, berries and avocados,” she wrote on her blog.

She also recommends inflammation-fighting foods. ‘Help minimize inflammation with the addition of turmeric, salmon, olive oil and even dark chocolate… these foods can also help promote heart health and a healthy weight when eaten in moderation!’

And her final tip is to consume plant-based proteins. “To keep your heart healthy, you may want to start replacing animal proteins with plant proteins, such as red meat, at this point in your life.” Think of a meat-free bean chili, tossing lentils into your salads, or fajitas with tofu instead of steak.’

When it comes to food, she told DailyMail.com that she watches what she eats, but also likes it to be delicious. And her portions are just right to shed the pounds.

“I eat smaller portions,” Denise told DailyMail.com. “For dinner I might have salmon and vegetables. A snack is linseed with yogurt. I love avocados and eggs for breakfast.

‘I cook very healthily for my family. There are lots of salads, chicken tacos, vegetable lasagna, casseroles with less cheese.”

But she is not always careful: ‘Eighty percent of the time I eat well and the other twenty percent I eat poorly.’

She’s referring to the popular 80/20 diet method, which allows for cheat days. Some things she likes to play with: carbs and sugar.

And she also talked about sports.

The exercise proponent’s answer to combating the bulge is to take small steps.

“I’ve been doing this for forty years and I’m not a fitness nut,” she immediately clarifies during the interview. “But I’m consistent.”

That means you train in some form every day.

“If you can work out for ten minutes straight and do that three times a day, you’ve worked out 30 minutes in one day,” the star noted.

And she added that it’s important to keep moving throughout the day: ‘It’s all about blood circulation and exercise. I even get up and walk in place when I’m watching TV, just to keep things moving.”

Sounds like smart math and an easy way to start exercising.

Fantastic shape for decades: Denise trains every day in some form or another. 'If you can exercise for 10 minutes in a row and do that three times a day, you have exercised 30 minutes in one day. It's all about blood circulation and exercise'

“The consistency pays off,” added the affable pin-up, who is very active on Instagram.

One way she likes to exercise is walking: “It’s a healthy way to feel better and get a better mood and sleep.” Exercise is the best pre-meditative medicine.”

Her love of walking explains why she teamed up with Easy mindwhich makes comfortable, lightweight shoes. The line is called the Easy Spirit x Denise Austin Collaboration.

And exercising is about more than looking good: ‘I like to exercise to feel good. After a walk I feel energetic, the endorphins start and flow, it helps with stress, anxiety and pent-up feelings.’

Another tip is that she pays attention to her posture: ‘Not many people think about posture these days, but when you stand up straight you’re contracting your abs and you’re really working out without working out, so I’d say that’s one of my best. tips, because it requires minimal effort, but yields maximum results if you do it often.’

‘I like walking in my Easy Spirit shoes. They provide great support, cushion every step and look and feel great,” says Denise. The Easy Spirit x Denise Austin Collaboration offers high to low impact athletic shoes and prices are under $100.

“I love that they are lightweight, flexible and breathable,” Austin added. “I can wear them anywhere.”
