Democrats react to first Republican presidential debate and rage against Florida governor saying: ‘You a**hole DeSantis’

Democrats are outraged by comments made by Republican candidates in the Republican Party’s first presidential debate, which saw Ron DeSantis labeled an “asshole” and “coward” by senior figures and Vivek Ramaswamy labeled “Putin’s pet animal.”

During the wide-ranging debate, eight candidates, including former Vice President Mike Pence, Nikki Haley and Chris Christie, got into arguments over topics such as abortion, climate change and the economy.

Major Democrats, including Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Nancy Pelosi, have since waded in to disapprove of their political rivals’ proposed policies.

Harris described the debate as an “extremist agenda” for the US, while President Biden tweeted, “Climate change is real, by the way.”

Meanwhile, many condemned DeSantis’ claim that Democrats are working to allow “abortion up to the moment of birth” as misleading.

“No one is trying to allow abortions right up to birth,” former Senator Al Franken of Minnesota tweeted. “You a**hole, DeSantis.”

During the debate, eight candidates, including former Vice President Mike Pence, Nikki Haley and Chris Christie, got into arguments over topics such as abortion, climate change and the economy.

Franken then appeared to correct himself before doubling down on his comments. ‘Sorry. I meant “bastard,” Franken continued. “No, ‘a**hole’ was right.”

Meanwhile, former House Speaker Pelosi focused on the candidates’ tax policies.

She posted on X: “The Democrats created 13.4 million jobs and saved our economy by growing the middle class.”

“But everyone at the (GOP debate) wants to harm working families sitting at their kitchen tables — to pay for tax cuts for the rich who sit at their board tables,” Pelosi claimed.

“Not on our watch!” she added.

Other leading Democrats have expressed anger at the candidates’ response to a question about climate change, including LA Mayor Karen Bass.

“When candidates on the #GOPDebate stage tonight were asked to raise their hands if they thought climate change was manmade, none of them did,” she tweeted.

“Los Angeles was just placed under tropical storm watch for the first time EVER. Absolutely embarrassing. Lives are in danger

Maryland Representative Jamie Raskin labeled DeSantis a “coward” for his views on climate change.

He posted on X: “Three taboo topics in tonight’s race-to-the-bottom debate: Climate change (pretend it doesn’t exist!) A nationwide ban on abortion (shh!) Gun violence (don’t insult the NRA!) ‘

JL Partners conducted an online survey to reach 504 registered Republicans watching Wednesday’s debate. The results come with a margin of error of 4.4 percent

Raskin also targeted Rawaswamy and mocked him for his soft attitude towards Russia.

Ramaswamy is now seriously competing with Donald Trump to win the Vladimir Putin primary. Putin has a new pet in the Republican party!’

The Republican candidates for the 2024 election not only attacked the Democrats, but also used the Fox News debate Wednesday night to bicker with each other.

Ramaswamy, who has emerged as a favorite ever since, was dubbed an ‘amateur’ and a ‘rookie’ as he fended off attacks from all his opponents during fierce stage confrontations.

DeSantis tried to avoid the crossfire by directing the attacks at President Biden and touting how he would handle the border crisis.

Meanwhile, Pence said he would support a federal abortion ban and Christie was booed for saying Trump’s conduct was “below the office” of the president.
