Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz wore a Putin mask on Wednesday as he walked into the House Oversight Committee hearing on Hunter Biden’s business dealings, part of a broader Republican-led impeachment inquiry led by the Republican Party.
Moskowitz posed as the Russian leader as he addressed reporters outside the committee room.
The Florida Democrat said he was there to thank Chairman James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky, “for taking all of our intelligence and putting it to use in the committee.”
“Maybe he can come and see the technology in our supermarkets, thank you,” Moskowitz added.
He was referring to former Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s widely publicized Putin interview, a sit-down that took place shortly before the prison death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

“House Oversight Republicans opened this investigation into Joe Biden with the 1023 form, which has now been proven to come from Russian intelligence,” Moskowitz later said in a statement.
Moskowitz removed the mask as he entered the committee room.
He ignored a reporter’s question who asked if his antics were “childish.”
In a statement to De Heuvelkrant he explained the symbolism of the Putin mask.
“House Oversight Republicans opened this investigation into Joe Biden with the 1023 form, which has now been proven to come directly from Russian intelligence,” Moskowitz said.
‘James Comer did what Vladimir Putin wanted. The mask was worn to convey that image,” the Florida Democrat added.
The Republican-led effort to impeach President Joe Biden stemmed from an unsubstantiated claim found in a document called FBI Form 1023, in which FBI officials warned that Republican lawmakers were not supported by evidence.
Instead, an FBI source had made the claim — that Biden took a $5 million bribe from an executive of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma — and wrote it down.
That source, Alexander Smirnov, has now been charged by the Justice Department with lying.
Prosecutors said Smirnov told them that “officials linked to Russian intelligence were involved.”
Maskless during the hearing, Moskowitz also taunted Comer and challenged him to move forward with an impeachment vote as Wednesday’s wild hearing ended.
‘I think we should do it today. Just call for it. I will make the motion, Mr. Chairman,” Moskowitz said. “Make a motion to impeach President Biden, go ahead.”
Comer responded negatively to Moskowitz and shook his head.
“No, nothing, okay, we have nothing,” he said. “So I want my last few minutes to show the American people that they will never impeach Joe Biden, that will never happen, because they don’t have the evidence.”
“Okay, this is a show. It’s all fake. They just want to have these hearings, it won’t lead to impeachment. They lie to their base. On Newsmax and Fox. These people lead you to believe that they will eventually impeach the president. It’s not going to happen. Not at all. Ever period.”
