The Democratic mayor of a Washington state city is refusing to retract his claim that the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump was staged.
Aberdeen Mayor Douglas Orr said he still believes Trump may have cut off his ear as part of the stunt and is asking independent doctors to examine his injury.
Orr wrote a Facebook post riddled with spelling errors, complaining that it’s “sick how politics [sic] have degenerated.’
The Democrat claimed: ‘Ears bleed a lot [sic]. I hope they check to make sure it wasn’t just a self-inflicted scratch. The shooter is dead, so we’ll never know if it was staged.’
Orr added: ‘I don’t quite believe it yet. Anyway. [sic] if you look at it, it was a horrible act. Except Biden would die [sic]This is about the only thing that could happen to artificially give Trump sympathy votes. I hope I’m wrong, but given his history of deception, that’s the first thing that came to mind.

The mayor removed the post because he felt people’s reactions ‘went too far’.
In an appearance with The Jason Rantz Show on KTTHOrr stuck to his theory, saying, “I respectfully have the right to say what my gut feeling was. I don’t believe people have the right to intimidate me or disrespect me for my respectful comment.”
Orr, who works as an artist, explained that he questioned the attempted murder because he “watched World Wrestling all my life.”
He said, ‘Half the world thinks they’re actually wrestlers and yeah, they’re athletic and all that. But they get paid money to cut themselves on the forehead or the ear or the top of the head. Areas that bleed a lot and with very little damage.’
While he admits he has no evidence to support his claims, Orr says his gut feeling tells him it was staged because Trump is a “television actor.”
Orr won his election as mayor by just four votes after two manual recounts in 2023. He is the first openly gay mayor of Aberdeen, a Republican-leaning county.

After the shooting that left a bystander dead on Saturday, detectives were searching for clues about what motivated Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, to carry out the shocking attack.
The FBI said it was investigating it as a possible act of domestic terrorism, but the lack of a clear ideological motive in the man shot dead by the Secret Service has led to many conspiracy theories.
According to the FBI, Crooks, who had bomb-making materials in the car he drove to the meeting, acted alone.

Investigators found no threatening social media comments or ideological views that could explain why he targeted Trump before the Secret Service put the presumptive Republican presidential nominee onstage in blood.
Trump said on social media that the upper part of his right ear was pierced in the shooting, but advisers said he was in “great spirits” ahead of his arrival Sunday in Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention.
Two bystanders were seriously injured, while a former fire chief from the area, Corey Comperatore, was killed. The Pennsylvania governor said Comperatore, 50, died a hero by diving on his family to protect them.
