Demi Moore reveals ‘crazy’ way she lost weight after giving birth a second time

Demi Moore recently reflected on the intense exercise regimen she followed after the birth of her second daughter, Scout Willis, in 1991.

The now 61-year-old actress lived in Malibu with her then-husband Bruce Willis and decided to bike 30 miles each way to the set of Indecent Proposal every day, pushing herself to get back to her pre-pregnancy figure.

β€œI put so much pressure on myself,” Moore explained during CBS Sundays. ‘I’ve been told to lose weight. And all of those things, although they may have been embarrassing and humiliating, I did them to myself.’

She recalled: ‘I think she was five or six months old when we were filming. [Indecent Proposal]. So I was feeding [Scout] through the night, getting up in the dark with a sneaker, with a headlamp, biking all the way to Paramount, wherever, even the location where we were filming; then filming a whole day, which is usually a 12-hour day; and then starting all over again.

β€œJust the idea of what I’ve done to my body is so crazy, so ridiculous.”

Together with Scout, 33, Moore has daughters Rumer, 36, and Tallulah, 30, with his ex-husband Bruce, 69.

Sunday’s CBS interview follows Demi’s statement that her decision to seek the groundbreaking $12.5 million salary for her role in Striptease was born out of her desire for equal pay, and not out of competition with her then-husband, Bruce Willis.

Moore became the highest-paid actress in Hollywood thanks to the 1996 film, in which she played a stripper.

Speaking on The New York Times podcast The Interview, she explained that her request was not about matching Willis’ star status, but about ensuring she would be fairly compensated for her work.

“It wasn’t about comparing myself to him. Yeah, I saw what he was getting paid. It was more about, ‘Why wouldn’t I do it? If I’m doing the same amount of work, why wouldn’t I do it?'” she explained.

Moore recently opened up about how she supports her daughters as they deal with their father Bruce’s diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia.

Moore, who was married to the Hollywood icon from 1987 to 2000, shared her approach during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.

The actress discussed the advice she gives her children about how to stay connected to their father as he deals with the challenges of a condition that affects his cognitive functions.

“What I tell my kids is you meet them where they are. You don’t hold on to who they were or what you want them to be, you hold on to who they are in this moment,” she said.
