Demi Moore has joined the cast of the highly anticipated season two of the Ryan Murphy FX anthology series Feud, which is five years in the making.
According to Variety, The new eight-episode season will follow the true story of how famed novelist and screenwriter Truman Capote befriended many members of New York’s high society until he published excerpts from his unfinished novel Answered Prayers, detailing all the details about the elite of the city.
Moore, 59, will star as socialite Ann Woodward, a former showgirl and radio actress who was infamously accused of murdering her husband in 1955.

As previously announced, Moore will join a cast for season two, subtitled Capote’s Women, alongside Tom Hollander, who will play Capote, Diane Lane, Calista Flockhart, Naomi Watts and Chloë Sevigny.
Famed filmmaker Gus Van Sant is on board to direct all eight episodes. He has made his mark in both independent and mainstream films with resumes including Drugstore Cowboy (1989), My Own Private Idaho (1991), To Die For (1995), Good Will Hunting (1997) and Milk (2008). .
Jon Robin Baitz will write the new season and act as showrunner.
In addition to her starring role, Watts will also serve as an executive producer along with Murphy through Ryan Murphy Productions, Plan B’s Dede Gardner, Tim Minear and Alexis Martin Woodall.

The second season of Feud comes five years after the eight-episode debut, Bette And Joan (2017), starring Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon as Hollywood stars Bette Davis and Joan Crawford.
It dealt with the two Hollywood legends’ well-documented rivalry during and after the production of their psychological horror thriller film What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962).
Critically acclaimed, with high praise for Lange and Sarandon’s performances, the series received several accolades, including four Golden Globe Awards and 18 nominations at the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards, two of which were won for Outstanding Hairstyling and Makeup (Non-Prosthetic).
It was originally reported that the sequel season of Feud, subtitled Charles And Diana, would focus on Charles, Prince of Wales, and Diana, Princess of Wales. The subtitle was renamed Buckingham Palace, but the idea was eventually scrapped in 2018.

Moore was once the highest paid actress in movie history when she signed up to star in Striptease (1996) for an unprecedented $12.5 million.
This year she began shooting the horror film The Substance, which began in May but had to be postponed when co-star Ray Liotta died suddenly and tragically later in the month.
In August, Deadline reported that the film is “in production” after Liotta’s role was recast, which was confirmed by iHorror.com, as well as by co-star Margaret Qualley in an interview with W magazine.
Moore even got one of her big breakthroughs in television acting playing Jackie Templeton on the hit soap opera General Hospital (1982-1984).
Most recently, her last two roles for TV came in the science fiction drama series for Peacock, Brave New World (2020), but it was canceled after one season, and Dirty Diana, which is based on her erotic podcast of the same name.
Moore is best known for her film roles in St. Elmo’s Fire (1985), Ghost (1990), A Few Good Men (1992), Indecent Proposal (1993), Disclosure (1993) and the aforementioned Striptease (1996).
