Demi Moore, 61, looks sensational in a chainmail dress with black underwear as she joins Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Lily James to celebrate Dolce & Gabbana’s 40th anniversary in Milan

Demi Moore looked sensational in chain mail as she led the stars in celebrating Dolce & Gabbana’s 40th anniversary in Milan on Saturday.

The actress, 61, was joined by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, 36, and Lily James, 35, for the opening night of the brand’s exhibition at Palazzo Reale.

Demi stepped out in Italy’s fashion capital and paired the shimmering, sheer piece with a black bra and matching high-waisted bottoms.

She styled her hair straight and increased her height with a pair of strappy sandals to complete her look.

Rosie also embraced the brand’s love of lingerie and wore a black chiffon dress with a plunging neckline.

The slip dress had corset-style paneling and was paired with suspenders, lace stockings and black underwear.

Lily opted for a two-piece consisting of a sheer halter top and black wide-leg trousers.

Speak with Financial times Ahead of the opening of the exhibition, brand founders and co-owners Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana explained how they hope to tell the story of ‘where they come from’.

Stefano said: ‘Our dream is to inspire the new generations, encourage them to express what they feel, and give them courage.’

Domenico added: ‘We would like young people to see in the artistic professions an alternative, an antidote to banality and homogenization.

“And if this project makes them marvel at the creativity and craftsmanship that goes into not just the final product, but the entire process, we will feel truly happy.”

Demi’s outing takes place in the context of ex-husband Bruce Willis’ battle against dementia and aphasia.

Since the Die Hard star’s devastating diagnosis, his adoring family has rallied behind him.

Bruce, 69, married the actress in 1987, but the couple split in 2000. When Demi found love with younger actor Ashton Kutcher, 46, (whom she split from in 2011), Bruce later fell for English model and actress Emma Heming, who is almost 25 years his junior.

But Bruce, Demi and Emma were determined to remain friends for the sake of their children, and the couples bonded.

“We’ve become like a tribe,” Bruce said of their blended family when he spoke to W Magazine in 2009, after Ashton and Demi attended his Turks and Caicos wedding to Emma.

Bruce has previously noted that people are often baffled by his friendship with Demi, with whom he shares children Rumer, 35, Scout, 32, and Tallulah, 30.

“It’s generated a lot of interest because everyone can understand the resentment and envy that comes with the breakdown of a marriage, but they don’t understand how I can get along with my ex like that,” he said.

“Demi and I have chosen to put the kids first, and we are fortunate that we all have fun together.”

Demi and Ashton split in 2011 and finalized their divorce two years later.

Meanwhile, Bruce and Emma welcomed their daughter Mabel in 2012. Two years later they had Evelyn.

Bruce celebrated his 69th birthday in March surrounded by his family, including ex-wife Demi.

The actress shared two new snaps on Instagram: one of her and Bruce talking and another of Bruce playing with his granddaughter Louetta, his daughter Rumer’s first child.

Demi also shared an undated photo of Bruce with all three of his daughters: Rumer, Tallulah and Scout.

She captioned it, “Congratulations, BW! We love you and are so grateful for you.”
