Delta Goodrem wears a KISS T-shirt as she joins Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons for a special Sunrise broadcast live from Melbourne

She’s known as a pop diva, but Australian hitmaker Delta Goodrem revealed her inner rocker during an appearance on Seven’s Sunrise on Friday.

Delta, 38, joined KISS’s Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons for a special broadcast from Federation Square in Melbourne ahead of the AFL Grand Final on Saturday.

The Australian singer impressed America’s music veterans when she rocked a vintage KISS T-shirt for the occasion.

She paired the collection top with black trousers, a matching jacket and accessorized with a simple silver necklace.

Delta wore her blonde locks and sported a light makeup look before jumping on stage in front of the Sunrise cameras in front of a live audience.

Delta also showed off a large diamond engagement ring that she received from her longtime boyfriend Matthew Copely, who joined her on guitar during her brief Sunrise performance.

Later, KISS guitarist Paul, 71, and his bandmate, bassist Gene, 74, were spotted backing Delta through a packed crowd of ga-ga KISS fans.

At one point, Gene shook hands with Delta as she moved around the stage.

All three were previously interviewed live in the Sunrise program.

At one point, newsreader Edwina Bartholomew was seen giving Gene a “fist-shake” after the aging heavy rocker was given a basket of chocolates as a gift from the Sunrise team.

Host Matt ‘Shirvo’ Shirvington also seemed impressed as he was spotted chatting and shaking hands with rock hero Paul.

Meanwhile, Delta announced her engagement to her bandmate Matthew in an Instagram post last Thursday evening, along with a loved-up photo of the couple on holiday in Malta.

In the image, Delta tenderly embraced her love in front of a beautiful sea view as the sun set in the foreground and the couple enjoyed a glass of champagne.

According to leading diamond expert Zack Stone, a specialist at British retailer Steven Stone, Delta’s diamond sparkler Matthew could have fetched as much as AUD$123,000.

It comes after KISS promised delivering a breakthrough performance ahead of the Magpies’ clash with the Brisbane Lions on Saturday.

“Bombastic will be the word of the day,” Paul boasted.

“And we’ll establish a no-fly zone over the stadium because we’re going to blow up a lot of stuff. Subtlety is not our strong suit.’

‘We’re really going to step it up. It’s anyone’s game,” Gene added.

In the pre-match slot, Kiss are expected to grace the stage with their mega hits Rock And Roll All Nite and I Was Made For Loving You.

KISS, along with their long-time Australian tour promoter Andrew McManus, came to the rescue to save the Grand Final’s entertainment line-up.

Earlier this year, the AFL confirmed KISS would play the biggest game of the year as part of their global End of the Road farewell tour after Kiwi icons Crowded House pulled out of the showpiece sporting event.

Some AFL fans earlier this month expressed doubts about the aging rockers playing the grand final, bracing for a repeat of the 2011 Meat Loaf disaster.

However, many AFL fans are happy to see them play on the biggest day in sport with one message saying ‘Much better than an unknown Australian band’; Others feel that the best days of American rockers are behind them.

Some have even started comparing KISS to the 2011 Meat Loaf performance, which ended in controversy.

Despite being a legendary rock artist, his halftime show performance was heavily criticized due to his vocal problems and erratic behavior on stage.

This event remains a notable moment in the history of the AFL finals and sparks debate over the choice of half-time entertainment.
