Delta Goodrem announces engagement to long-time boyfriend Matthew Copley during holiday in Malta: ‘My best friend asked me to marry him’
Delta Goodrem is officially engaged to longtime friend and guitarist Matthew Copley.
The singer shared the news on Instagram on Thursday evening, along with a loved-up photo of the couple on holiday in Malta.
The image shows Delta tenderly embracing Matthew in front of a beautiful sea view as the sun sets in the foreground.
It looks like she’s holding a festive glass of bubbly for the occasion.
“My best friend asked me to marry him,” she giddily captioned the image, alongside a ring emoji.

Her announcement was quickly flooded with well-wishers.
‘Congratulations beautiful souls. Soooo happy for you. Xxxxxxx so much love,” wrote Lisa Origliasso of The Veronicas.
“Congratulations darling ❤️❤️❤️,” Home and Away’s Georgie Parker added.
‘Congratulations!’ wrote singer pop icon Belinda Carlisle.
Former Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop also joined the choir, along with The Morning Show’s Kylie Gillies, presenter Lisa Wilkinson and Love Island Australia host Sophie Monk.

Delta recently wrapped up the European leg of its Hearts on the Run tour and enjoyed some time off in Malta.
The blonde beauty has dated a host of famous faces, from Nick Jonas and Brian McFadden to tennis great Mark Philippoussis.
But much less is known about the singer’s current boyfriend, Matthew Copley.
In 2018, she told InStyle Australia that she had made a “conscious decision” to keep her love life private.
“I made a choice that I’m not even going to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’… I didn’t say anything for three or four years,” she stated.

As a result, Delta and Matt never appear on the red carpet together and the Born to Try hitmaker refuses to go into details about her relationship in interviews.
She finally broke her silence in February this year in Australian Women’s Weekly, confessing: “He’s my guitarist, I met him through music.”
“It’s incredible to be on stage with him because he’s so talented. We are truly a team. He is my best friend, he is kind and a beautiful person,” she continued.
Although Matthew is best known as his girlfriend’s guitarist, he has also worked with some other big names in the industry, including Conrad Sewell.
