The tribute said, “It’s hard to put into words how any of us feel. I don’t think we could ever overcome something so brutal and ultimately pointless.

Our thanks go to all the emergency services who did their best to bring him back to us, the people on the ground who gathered around him and called for help, and all the Heath staff who made sure his last days were comfortable. and who worked tirelessly to help him and the family.

“Throughout all of this, it was comforting to see so much love and support from so many people who knew Mark. Friends, colleagues, old teammates, but also customers and their dogs.

‘We have been inundated with nice words and when we noticed that, we spoke to him about it. Assume that he was aware of your kind words and was very happy to hear them.

‘Mark was a good man, with a lot of love to give. He passed away in the early hours of the morning surrounded by family. Peaceful. Comfortable. beloved. He will be sorely missed. X’

Prosecutor Nicholas Evans told magistrates that police were called to the scene in Cathays at around 12:50pm on Tuesday, March 28.

He said Mr. Lang got out of a white Renault van to make a delivery on Laytonia Avenue, only to see it stolen.

Mr Evans said Mr Lang tried to stop the van but was hit at high speed.

He was trapped under the vehicle and was dragged for about 750 meters before it came to rest on the main North Road leading into the center of the Welsh capital.

Emergency services took Mr Lang to the University Hospital of Wales in Heath, where he was treated for brain injuries and “several lacerations across the body”.
