Tottenham could miss out on £10m, with Dele Alli looking unlikely to play a prominent role for Everton again.
If Alli plays 20 games for Everton, Tottenham will receive a fee of £10 million.
However, it seems unlikely that Alli, whose Everton contract expires this summer, will reach that milestone.
As reported by The mirrorTottenham tried to renegotiate the payment in December, but were unsuccessful.
Tottenham suggested that the payment could be reduced to £8 million if the required number of appearances was also reduced.

Alli signed for Everton from Tottenham in January 2022 but has not played for the Toffees since August that year. The midfielder spent last season on loan at Besiktas, during which he made fifteen appearances and scored three goals.
The deal that saw Alli sign for Everton was worth up to £40 million, including performance-related add-ons.
During his time at Goodison Park, the 27-year-old suffered a series of injury problems.
Last year, Alli discussed his struggle with addiction after his challenging upbringing.
