Deiveson Figueiredo admits that fighting Brandon Moreno FOUR times in a row is ‘annoying’ and ‘stressful’, as the Brazilian aims to finally end the rivalry in the first UFC quadrilogy
- UFC 283 co-main event will be the first quadrilogy in the organization’s history
- Deiveson Figueiredo faces Brandon Moreno for the historic fourth time
- The Brazilian champion is at home and desperate to prove his superiority
- He edged out the Mexican with a decision win last year to claim the belt.
Deiveson Figueiredo is desperate to uphold his legacy as he prepares to face Brandon Moreno in the first quadrilogy in UFC history.
The Brazilian admits it’s “annoying” to face the same opponent four times in a row, but hopes this Saturday’s title fight in Brazil will put an end to their remarkable rivalry.
You may think that sharing more than an hour in the octagon would forge friendship and mutual respect, but Figueiredo insists that there is no love between the couple.

told the ufc: ‘Brandon Moreno and I don’t like each other. And when we get into the Octagon, we want to put on an incredible show for the fans and everyone who likes to watch Deiveson Figueiredo against Brandon Moreno.
‘I just walked into the Octagon alone… like a Trojan horse. Just pretending to be his friend. But in fact, we are not friends. It’s a rivalry. When we go up to the Octagon, we leave everything there to be victorious and this fourth fight will be no different.
“It’s a fight that stresses me out, it’s annoying,” he added. ‘It’s my fourth fight with this guy. I will definitely go there to end this once and for all.’
The 35-year-old reclaimed his belt from Moreno via unanimous decision last year, before the Mexican bounced back by beating Kai Kara France to earn another shot.
Moreno won the second fight between the two to become the first Mexican UFC champion.
The Brazilian and his rival drew in their first meeting before Moreno won via submission in the second.
Figueiredo will have the home crowd on his side this time in Rio de Janeiro and plans to move up the division afterwards.
And he added: ‘The belt stays at home. I feel 100% healthy. My expectation for this fight is to come out victorious and make the Brazilian fans who will attend the show really happy.
‘I want to test myself at bantamweight. Regardless of the result.
Figueiredo has the power advantage, but both men know each other very well.
