University of Colorado head coach Deion Sanders isn't at all shocked by the College Football Playoff selection committee's decision to leave Florida State at home in favor of Alabama.

The Seminoles were controversially ejected despite going a perfect 13-0 and winning the ACC Championship. Meanwhile, an Alabama team that won the SEC title over No. 1 Georgia but had a 12-1 record was included instead.

Sanders, who played his college football at Florida State, told The Dan Le Batard Show that the committee's decision was strictly from a business standpoint.

'A lot of people don't think of it as business. I look at it as entertainment, but this is business,” Sanders said. So there's no way you're going to leave Coach Saban out of a playoff in Alabama.

'Who should really be angry? Not just Florida State, but (Georgia head coach) Kirby Smart. He's been number one for the last two or three years, and they're out. What's with them? I mean, this is incredible. I want those problems. Give me those problems.'

Sanders added that the inclusion of one school that is not a traditional power — but deserves to be there — made things more difficult for FSU and Georgia.

“You know who really messed up, they're really good, but you know who messed up: Washington. They messed up because they don't have a huge market.

“There's Michigan, Texas, Alabama, Washington. And (Washington) can play. God, they're good. I mean, they can just play.

“They have a quarterback that is out of this world. The defense is coming. This was made for television. I can't wait to see how it turns out. But leaving out both Florida State and Georgia State, my God, that's why I'm grateful that it's going to be increased next year.”

This play-off is the last in which only four teams participate. Next season the CFP will expand to twelve teams.

Alabama will play Michigan in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, with the winner advancing to the national title game.

Meanwhile, Florida State plays Georgia in the Orange Bowl in Miami.
