With his son Shedeur projected to be one of the top picks in the 2025 draft, Deion Sanders revealed where he doesn’t want him to play in the NFL.

Coach Prime said he doesn’t want his 22-year-old son playing in a cold city when he enters the professional ranks.

Shedeur currently plays for Deion in Colorado. In 2023, the Buffaloes’ home games had an average temperature of 59.2 degrees. Their home opener against Nebraska was the warmest at 72 degrees, while their Oct. 13 game against Stanford was the coldest at 44 degrees.

“I don’t want (Shedeur) to go anywhere cold next year,” Sanders told Chris “Mad Dog” Russo during a SiriusXM interview, per Pro football talk. “He grew up in Texas. He played in Jackson (state), played in Colorado. (The) season will be over before it gets cold in Colorado.”

‘I just think far ahead. I don’t want that for him.’

Sanders also mentioned top draft prospect Caleb Williams. The USC quarterback is projected to be the No. 1 overall pick in April. While Coach Prime said the former Trojan “can play downright,” he also warned that the climate in Chicago could be an adjustment.

Williams started his career at Oklahoma — which Sanders called “not very cold” — before transferring to USC. However, Williams played at Gonzaga College High School and grew up in Washington, D.C. – a place where temperatures seasonally drop.

“If you take a guy from Ohio State and bring him to Chicago, I can understand that,” Sanders reportedly told Russo about the Bears selecting Justin Fields at No. 11 in 2021 after his collegiate career with the Buckeyes.

‘But from California to Chicago? Not only that, they added what? One or two more games in the NFL. Seventeen games. Come on man. You have to take that into account. Those kinds of things are important.’

Sanders got his fair share of cold and hot temperatures as a player. He played at Florida State in college and had stints in Dallas and San Francisco as a professional. He also played in places with lower temperatures, such as Atlanta, Baltimore and Washington.

In his first season with the Buffaloes, Shedeur threw for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns.

Colorado started off by winning its first three games in 2023 before losing three of its last nine to end the regular season.
