Defiant: Ekin-Su Culculoglu has recounted how she is determined to compete in Sunday’s first Dancing On Ice show while giving fans an update on Saturday, saying she would not give up in the midst of her fever

She wrote in the caption: ‘On my way to training. Coming back to that. Don’t give up just because I’m sick – Let it come tomorrow! @dancingonice’.

Ekin-Su looked resplendent in the moment despite her illness as she sported a radiant makeup look and opted for a warm light brown fleece.

Also in her story, she shared a group photo of all the contestants before the first show and praised them all for how far they had come in training.

It comes after Ekin-Su revealed earlier this week that she was down with a fever.

The reality star, who will make her track debut this Sunday, took to Twitter to reveal that doctors have advised her to rest, in the hope that she can still compete this weekend.

Fortunately, it seemed that Ekin-Su’s boyfriend, Davide Sanclimenti, was on hand to take care of his girlfriend, as he posted on Instagram Stories that she was “in good hands.”

Sharing her failing health with fans, Ekin-Su tweeted: “I have been told to rest by very sick doctors, I hope I can recover very quickly and be ready for Sunday.”

Proud: Also on her story, she shared a group photo of all the contestants before the first show while praising them all for how far they had come in training.

Davide then shared a snapshot of his girlfriend on his Stories as she tried to recover in bed, writing: “Someone is home with a fever… in good hands though.”

On Wednesday, Ekin-Su had tweeted that she was still fighting the disease, tweeting: ‘I had this flu for a month! Not what you need for the live show on Sunday! I need to rest.’

The reality star will make her ice debut this weekend along with 10 other couples in the first ever live show.

Worrying: She revealed earlier this week that she may be forced to miss the first live show of Dancing On Ice 2023, after coming down with a fever.

Other celebrities competing in this year’s series include soccer legend John Fashanu, Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson, Coronation Street’s Mollie Gallagher, Drag Queen and TV personality The Vivienne, comedian Darren Harriott, actress and star of the West End Carley Stenson and Siva Kaneswaran of The Wanted.

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby return as hosts. Meanwhile, ice royalty Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean resume judging the ice panel alongside dancers Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse.

The Love Island star also claimed that one of her strengths is being “very competitive.”

Ekin-Su admitted that she used to ice skate, saying, ‘I used to ice skate when I was a kid, but it’s been years since I skated, you forget, don’t you? During the pandemic I forgot how to walk because we were locked up for two years!’

The reality star, who is paired with Brendyn Hatfield, said: ‘I’m very competitive. so if I have to rehearse for two hours, then I’ll be there for four, I’ll aim for the sky!

Not so long now! It came after Ekin-Su revealed that she has previous experience in skating before competing on Dancing On Ice (pictured pairing her with Brendyn Hatfield)

‘My strengths would be that I am competitive, passionate and I learn the movement quickly. My weaknesses would be thinking too much and becoming impatient. If I can’t do something, I’ll try and try until I can do it.’

When asked if this is one of the scariest things she’s ever done, Ekin-Su replied, “I’ve never been scared in my life, I’ve never been nervous in my life, I’ve always been confident.” I think the only time he would be nervous would be in the final. I know that I am going to fall and hurt myself because in life you fall and hurt yourself. I’m ready.

When asked if she’s in it to win it, Ekin-Su said, “Yes I am, otherwise I won’t.” I don’t mind going home early, but my mind doesn’t work like that. If I’m doing it, I’m putting in 100 percent. I’m going to believe in myself, I believe in myself a lot.

Dancing On Ice returns Sunday January 15 at 6:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
