Declan Donnelly makes jibe at Simon Cowell’s appearance as he says the judge has had ‘some work done’ during Britain’s Got Talent semi-final

Declan Donnelly took a cheeky swipe at Simon Cowell as he joked that the judge had ‘done some work’ during Friday’s Britain’s Got Talent semi-final.

Host duo Ant and Dec, both 48, were just introducing the next contestant: magician Trixy, as they stood next to the jury.

Dec introduced him and said: ‘Next stop is a magician whose audition included an old car that belonged to Simon Cowell in the 1990s.

Ant added: “Your face when you saw that beautiful car!”

Dec replied: “Of course a lot has been done to it since the 90s,” to which Ant joked: “The car?” and his co-host promptly replied, laughing, “If you want!”

Even head judge Simon, 64, was left in stitches by the joke, as the two presenters struggled to contain their laughter

Even head judge Simon, 64, was left reeling by the joke, as the two presenters struggled to contain their laughter.

Despite the cheeky joke, the music mogul has previously denied having a facelift, but admits he is a fan of Botox and fillers.

Simon told me earlier The mirror Last year: ‘I mean, it just makes me laugh – I haven’t had a facelift or anything.

“Over the years, people have said I’ve done it all. I had a little Botox or whatever, but nothing drastic.”

Simon previously revealed that his son Eric made fun of his appearance, leading him to realize he had ‘gone too far’.

‘There was a phase where I might have gone a little too far. I recently saw a photo of me from ‘back in the day’, and at first I didn’t recognize it as me. Eric was hysterical. Enough was enough. There is now no filler in my face at all. Zero,” he told The Sun.

In 2008, Simon said that Botox was very common in the entertainment industry. He said: ‘For me, Botox is no more unusual than toothpaste. It works, you do it once a year, who cares?’

In 2019, Simon admitted that he had a “21st century facelift” and “too much Botox” before his 60th birthday.

“Of course a lot of work has been done since the 1990s,” Dec added cheekily, to which Ant quipped: “The car?” and his co-host promptly replied, laughing, “If you want!”

He gave himself a massive makeover and said the procedure ‘hurt like hell’ as he revealed other methods he had turned to.

He said, ‘There are many things you can do now. You don’t just have to stuff your face with filler and Botox. It hurts like hell, but it fixes sun damage and gets all the junk out of the socket.”

More recently, the music mogul said, “I also had a sheep placenta facial once, which was pretty outrageous.”

‘Then Sinitta suggested I try another detox machine, and this thing appeared in my bedroom and it looked like something out of Dr Who. It was as if a spaceship had landed in my bedroom.’

Simon also noted that he takes his vitamins daily and exercises regularly. He added: ‘I work out three or four times a week, I have Botox, take tons of vitamins and vitamin infusions – if you believe these things work, you will feel better.’

Last year Simon proved he doesn’t mind making fun at his own expense after speaking out about his changing face on Britain’s Got Talent.

During one of the talent show’s live shows, he set tongues wagging and made a cheeky comment across his face.

The surprise move came after one hopeful, Tom Crosbie, impressed the judges by creating Bruno Tonioli’s face from Rubik’s Cubes.

As the end result was shown to the panel, Amanda Holden, 52, took the chance to joke about Bruno, 67, saying: ‘Well, he’s got the orange [face] right!’

“How the hell do you do that?” asked a completely bewildered Simon, as the artist replied: ‘Practice… it turns out you have a very difficult face to make from Rubik’s Cubes.’

At that point, Simon joked, “I’ll change my face… again.”

Simon said he decided to quit when son Eric, eight, became hysterical due to his strange appearance (L, in 2021, R in 2022)

He said: ‘There was a stage where I might have gone a little too far. I saw a photo of me from ‘back in the day’, and at first I didn’t recognize it as me. Eric was hysterical. Enough was enough. There is now no filler in my face at all. Zero’

He also shows off his much slimmer figure after dropping three stone and has lately been wearing a surgical back brace to aid his recovery after being nearly paralyzed in a cycling accident in 2020.

The businessman broke his back in 2020 when he fell from an electric bicycle he was testing at his home in Malibu, California. He had to undergo surgery for six hours. Another setback followed after he fell off his bike again a year later.

The former X Factor star has since shed three stone after overhauling his diet and lifestyle to help with his recovery.
