‘Our family is and will remain our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love and kindness.
“We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family goes through this transition.”
The former couple signed the statement as “Deb and Hugh Jackman,” adding, “This is the only statement either of us will make.”
The couple tied the knot in 1996 after crossing paths on the set of Correlli in 1995.
Over the course of their marriage, they adopted two children: son Oscar, 23, and daughter Ava, 18.
Deb’s new project is the sequel to local hit film The Dry, which grossed an impressive $22 million at the Australian box office in 2021, and was shot in Victoria in 2022.
The new film, called Force of Nature, is another murder mystery and, like The Dry, is based on a bestselling novel by Jane Harper and will again be directed by Robert Connolly.
Deb has quite a gap in her CV, having last appeared on screen in the miniseries Hyde & Seek in 2016.
Before that, she worked on the film Blessed in 2009 and has done some voice work occasionally since then.
