Death Stranding 2 was revealed during The Game Awards 2022 and is a sequel to what we consider one of the best PS4 games ever. While we haven’t received any concrete details about the Death Stranding 2 release date, we know it officially has the title Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, and that it will happen sometime in 2025.
A second trailer for Death Stranding 2 is also available for Kojima fans to pick apart. It sees returning characters Fragile and Sam ‘Porter’ Bridges – although not exactly as we left them last time. There are new villains in the mix and some very nice visuals, making Death Stranding 2 one of the most exciting PS5 exclusives we have on the calendar.
This is what we know about Death Stranding 2 so far, including a look at the confirmed platforms, the first trailer, and all the latest news. As more details come to light, no doubt trickling in over the next year or so, we’ll be sure to update this page.

Death Stranding 2 Trailers
We received a new Death Stranding 2: On the Beach trailer earlier this year, and it was quite a show. It confirms the game’s real name (Death Stranding 2: On the Beach), and runs about 10 minutes long. There’s a pop, lots of bridges getting blown up, and a battle involving a weaponized guitar. Check it out for yourself, below:
There have only been two Death Stranding 2 trailers released so far. The reveal trailer is four minutes of classic Kojima deception, with a lot of big names thrown in. Check it out below:
What it all means…well, the Death Stranding 2 The reveal trailer certainly raises more questions than it answers. For one, Sam “Porter” Bridges is now gray, and Fragile is seemingly cured. Not only that, but she has a baby, whom she will later be unable to protect from unknown enemies. There’s a creepy-looking BB, a giant ship rising from tar, and a new villain wearing a very familiar red mask. We’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out and develops into a fuller story.
It may be a while before we learn more about Death Stranding 2, since it’s coming out in 2025. Until then, it’s worth checking out official playstation youtube channel for new trailers.

Death Stranding 2 Gameplay
Thanks to the latest Death Stranding 2 trailer, we’ve gotten a first look at the gameplay. Things look similar to the first, with players traversing open areas and encountering spooky enemies along the way. The main differences here seem to be in the terrain, which looks much more dangerous. Landslides, flash floods, and tougher enemies provide a greater challenge, with much more focus on action this time around.
We see Sam using bikes to get around and weapons to defeat enemies. Whether we’ll see packages delivered in the same way as in the first game remains to be seen, but with Fragile’s new Drawbridge network replacing the UCA, we’re betting there will be a lot of bridge building, albeit in larger and more detailed environments.
