Deadpool & Wolverine star Hugh Jackman suits up in all black as he supports the foul-mouthed superhero flick at its red carpet premiere in NYC
Hugh Jackman looked triumphant on Monday as he walked the red carpet for the premiere of his latest superhero film Deadpool & Wolverine.
The new film sees him return to play the iconic X-Men character – having previously indicated he was done playing Wolverine following his starring role in the dark superhero drama Logan – alongside his good friend Ryan Reynolds.
The third film in the Deadpool series, directed by Shawn Levy, follows the super-powered mercenary Deadpool as he lives a quiet life after retirement. This life is disrupted when the Time Variance Authority, a bureaucratic group that monitors the passage of time, pulls him out of his normal life to send him on a mission with Wolverine.
Hugh, 55, looked sharp in an all-black look at the premiere.
He wore a shiny black suit, paired with a black shirt.

The X-Men star opted to dress a little more casually by skipping a tie and leaving the top buttons undone.
He completed his understated look with shiny black leather shoes and his hair was shaved clean.
Hugh, as expected, seemed very comfortable with his buddy Ryan Reynolds, who convinced him to use his Wolverine claws again for another Deadpool film.
When Ryan brought his wife Blake Lively onto the red carpet, they posed alongside Hugh and Gigi Hadid.
Blake was dressed in red, which mirrored the color of Deadpool’s suit, while Gigi was dressed in yellow to complement Wolverine’s bright yellow suit in the film. The suit was inspired by the character’s most popular suits in the X-Men comics and animated series.
The leads also posed with Emma Corrin, who plays Cassandra Nova, the twin sister of X-Men leader Charles Xavier and the film’s biggest villain.
Hugh also enjoyed a sweet moment with his former Logan co-star Dafne Keen, 19, who also appears in the film.
She co-starred with him as a young mutant with the same powers as him in Logan, when she was only 11 years old.

Although Jackman has played numerous popular and acclaimed roles, both in the US and in his native Australia, he is best known for his role as Wolverine in the X-Men film series.
The first film, released in 2000, marked his breakthrough, and Jackman returned in 2003 for the more successful sequel X2. The original trilogy concluded in 2006 with X-Men: The Last Stand, but Jackman was back for more with a cameo role in the 2011 prequel X-Men: First Class, followed by his starring role in 2014’s X-Men: Days Of Future Past.
While Jackman often had a prominent role in the ensemble films, he also appeared in several spin-off films, including X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), the confusingly titled The Wolverine (2013) and the critically acclaimed Logan, in which he played an older, alternate version of the character.
In September, Jackman split from his wife Deborra-Lee Furness. The couple had been married since 1996.
