Ryan Reynolds has welcomed The Crown star Emma Corrin to the ‘Deadpool family,’ and has announced that they will star in the upcoming third installment.
Emma, 27, who played Diana, Princess of Wales in The Crown and starred in Lady Chatterley’s Lover opposite Jack O’Connell, has been confirmed as a new addition to the cast of Deadpool 3.
Ryan, 46, who reprises the title role as the foul-mouthed anti-hero, tweeted: ‘New addition to the family! The Deadpool family, for clarity. Which is like a real family, except with less swearing… Welcome back, Emma Corrin!
The Deadpool character first appeared on the big screen in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, before getting his own spinoff series.
Emma, who identifies as non-binary and uses they/pronouns, is currently playing the title character in an adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s novel Orlando at the Garrick Theater in London, directed by Michael Grandage.

News of his involvement in the third Deadpool movie comes after Ryan announced that Hugh Jackman will also reprise his role as Wolverine.
Hugh, who played the Marvel character in eight X-Men movies from 2000 to 2016, was last seen as Wolverine in the standalone film Logan in 2017.
He made a brief appearance in the second Deadpool installment, but had previously ruled out the possibility of a crossover movie between his character and Reynolds’ unlikely superhero.
The second sequel will be directed by Shawn Levy, who worked with Ryan on the 2021 action comedy Free Guy and the new 2022 sci-fi film The Adam Project.
It’s another directorial change for the Marvel franchise, with the original 2016 Deadpool directed by Tim Miller and the sequel by David Leitch.
It’s also the first Deadpool movie since Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox, which distributed the first two installments.
Ryan previously confirmed that the Deadpool 3 movie’s release date is September 6, 2024.
It comes after Hugh said that Deadpool and Wolverine hate each other.

The 54-year-old actor will join Ryan Reynolds in the upcoming Deadpool 3, reprising his role as Wolverine from the X-Men and Wolverine movies, and Hugh says the two characters will have an abrasive relationship.
Speaking in The Empire Movie Podcast, said: ’10 being very close, zero being reality, we are zero, we are opposites, we hate each other. I’m only speaking from my perspective, [Logan is] frustrated by him, wants to be a million miles from him or wants to punch him in the head.
“Unfortunately, I can’t get a million miles from him in this movie, so I’m probably going to hit him over the head a lot.”
Although Wolverine died in the 2017 Logan movie, Hugh insisted that his return in Deadpool 3 won’t affect the events of Logan.
previously explained to SiriusXM: ‘It’s all due to this device that they have in the world of Marvel to move through the timelines. Now we can go back because, you know, it’s science.
‘So, I don’t have to fuck with Logan’s timeline, which was important to me. And I think probably for the fans too.
Meanwhile, director Shawn Levy has promised that there will be ‘hardcore’ violence in Deadpool 3.
Shawn previously told him collider: ‘We’re writing, rewriting, developing, preparing Deadpool every day now.

Return: It comes after Hugh Jackman (left) set social media on fire in September after confirming his return as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, which stars his friend Ryan Reynolds (right).
‘It’s wonderful to laugh every day. It’s so delicious to listen and write and think about these scenes where people just talk bad. And the violence is in your face and it’s hardcore, and it’s very much a Deadpool movie.
Levy confirmed that the film is likely to start shooting in May 2023, explaining that having Hugh’s Wolverine involved has increased his enjoyment of the film.
The director, who has worked with Ryan on Free Guy and The Adam Project, said: “I’m having so much fun and I haven’t even made it to the set yet.”
“I have to say that developing a Deadpool movie is one of the most fun creative experiences of my life because it’s not just that it’s rated R. It’s that it’s so full of self-awareness and that makes writing on paper very, very fun”. in a way that is unique to the franchise.’
