The new DC Universe led by James Gunn and Peter Safran has added another major piece, with Milly Alcock signing on as the new Supergirl.
The 23-year-old Australian actress’ casting was first reported by Deadline on Monday, although Gunn, 57, quickly confirmed the news on Instagram.
‘This is right. Milly is a fantastically talented young actor, and I’m incredibly excited to have her join the DCU,” said Gunn, who confirmed in September that three existing DC Extended Universe (DCEU) characters will return to his DC Universe (DCU). .
“Yes, I first became aware of her in House of the Dragon, but I was blown away by her varied auditions and screen tests for #Supergirl,” he added.
“She embodies Kara as @tomking_tk and @bliquis and Ana Noguiera envisioned,” Gunn concluded.
