Quinn Redeker dies at 86: Days of our Lives star who played grim Alex Marshall on iconic soap opera passes away in Los Angeles

Days of our Lives star Quinn Redeker has died at the age of 86.

The iconic actor, best known for his portrayal of villain Alex Marshall on the 1979-1987 soap opera, died December 20 in Los Angeles.

He won two Soap Opera Digest Awards and took home the 1983 Soapy Award for Best Villain for his role in Days of our Lives.

He was also known for his portrayal of Rex Sterling on The Young and the Restless, a role he played in over 200 episodes.

The role of Sterling led to Redeker being nominated twice for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role on The Young and the Restless, in 1989 and 1990.

It won the 1989 Soapy Award. Outstanding Actor in a Supporting Role: Daytime for The Young and the Restless.

The actor also appeared on shows like The Six Million Dollar Man, Starsky & Hutch, Kojak, and Barnaby Jones during his television heyday in the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s.

She is survived by her children Brennen, Arianne, Glaen and Quinn Jr. and two grandchildren.
