Dayne Brajkovich: Gumtree ad may have sparked the attempted ‘gangland hit’ of notorious ex-Hells Angels bikie at a packed music festival is revealed

The motive for the brutal 'gang hit' on a notorious ex-Hells Angels enforcer may have been sparked by an advert on Gumtree.

Dayne Brajkovich, 44, was stabbed in the neck at Ministry of Sound's classic EDM concert at Kings Park and Botanic Garden in Perth last Friday at around 9.50pm.

He underwent emergency surgery shortly afterwards and walked out of Royal Perth Hospital the next day with a huge bandage around his neck.

Western Australian Police Commissioner Col Blanch suggested at a press conference on Thursday that a Gumtree advertisement could have prompted the attack.

Mr Brajkovich was stabbed in the neck at the Ministry of Sound Classical EDM concert at Perth's Kings Park and Botanical Garden about 9.50pm last Friday.

While the attackers remained at large, Blanch also hinted Thursday that Brajkovich was not cooperating with the police investigation into the stabbing.

“Normally, police struggle with investigations into criminal motorcycle gangs due to a lack of cooperation – and this time is no different,” he said.

“We're looking at what a motive might be and there's been a number of ideas put forward, whether it's just a Gumtree advert or something… that a few blokes are arguing about.”

Mr Brajkovich previously boasted to the West Australian that he sold all his old motorcycle gear after being kicked out of the Hells Angels in January 2022.

He told the outlet that he was moving on with his new life, leaving his days in the underworld behind to focus on his wife Jacinta and their young daughter.

Mr Blanch also confirmed that police had carried out a number of raids on members of motorcycle gangs across the state.

“We target the hierarchy and those who are in the command and control situations of outlaw motorcycle gangs,” he said.

“We believe that they direct activities, that they sanction activities, so if the outlaw motorcycle gang members commit a crime, we immediately go after the hierarchy of those involved and use every available law to go after them.”

Police Minister Paul Papalia said those who took part in the stabbing were “fat” and “stupid”.

“Their behavior shows no respect for the public or the law,” he said.

“These outlaw motorcycle gangs are a threat. They are not welcome and we are going after them.'

Mr. Brajkovic previously said he was partly responsible for promoting the brazen attack

Mr Brajkovic, who is covered from head to toe in tattoos, admitted he was partly responsible for provoking the vicious attack.

'I asked for it, I got it. That's the game,” he previously told The West Australian.

'But I didn't see the knife coming. I thought it was the carotid artery or artery, but it was just a vein. I sewed it all up.”

Police claim he suffered 'a serious laceration to his neck' in the attack, before being rushed to Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) for emergency surgery.

It is also believed that he suffered a finger injury while trying to defend himself.

Police suspect that a group of people then left the area on several motorcycles.

Mr Brajkovic was reportedly expelled from the Hells Angels in January 2022 after allegedly assaulting the then club chairman.

In January this year he was acquitted of two charges relating to the display of gang insignia, with WA Police having to pay him $4000 in court costs.
