Davina McCall broke down in tears as she took to the stage to deliver an emotional speech at the Brain Tumor Research Campaign on Thursday evening.
The 57-year-old presenter underwent brain surgery last month after revealing she had a ‘very rare’ colloidal cyst that only affects three in a million people.
And the star made her first public appearance since her surgery when she attended the event at All Saints Church, Fulham to support her neurosurgeon Kevin O’Neill.
Torn by the speech, she began: “I’m already crying, that didn’t go well.”
In the short clip, she continued, “I know many of you are here on your own brain tumor journey and many of you have lost loved ones to a brain tumor.
‘I lost my sister to a brain tumor in 2012 and my ex-father-in-law a year ago.’

‘Her message about the importance of funding for brain tumor research really resonated with all of us. Thank you, Davina, for being such a strong voice for this cause.”
The star previously revealed she ‘scared’ her doctor and her partner Michael when she first woke up after her surgery, as she shared an update with her fans earlier this month.
On Instagram, she praised her surgeon for performing the procedure, and although she initially woke up “very confused” after her surgery, she is now doing much better.

In the video she said: ‘Hi, I thought I’d do a little catch-up post, and I’m going to get my surgeon.
‘His name is Kevin O’Neill and he’s great. Obviously it was quite a challenge to find someone who knew about coloid cysts and all that. Kevin has a lot of experience as a neurosurgeon, and he did another coloid cyst this year and he was brilliant.
‘[He] I’ve got it all figured out and I know I scared him and Michael a little straight after the surgery because I was so confused, but I’m doing so well now.
‘I wanted to thank him and the whole team for the good care they took of me. And yes, I’m taking you and your missus out for a great dinner, Kevin.”
