The 56-year-old TV presenter was honored with the Special Recognition Award for her contributions to the television industry throughout her career.

As the award was presented, a montage of Davina’s career highlights appeared on screen, including the famous moment she kissed David Tennant during the 2009 Red Nose Day telethon.

It prompted a hilarious reaction from Michael, who was sitting next to Davina in the audience and looked on in apparent shock as she apologized profusely.

After the funny moment, Davina took to the stage to accept her award, bursting into tears as she paid tribute to Michael.

The star addressed her boyfriend by his full name, “Michael Douglas,” then joked, “the younger one, not the older one,” referring to the Hollywood actor of the same name.

She said Michael had made her “a better person,” as she looked at him lovingly from the stage.

During her acceptance speech, she said, “Thank you so much, this means so much. I can’t even tell you, I don’t even know where to begin.”

The TV legend added: ‘I love my job, I feel so privileged to be sharing it with you. You might like some of it, but not all of it. I’ve presented a few turkeys, I know!’

Davina joins a group of esteemed stars who have previously received the Special Recognition Award, including Sarah Lancashire, Lenny Henry, Michael Palin, Graham Norton and Billy Connolly.

Davina has been in a relationship with 49-year-old celebrity hairdresser Michael for five years. Although the two are very happy, they have no plans to tie the knot.

In a new interview, the former Big Brother star spoke candidly about the future of their relationship, revealing that they don’t feel the need to make it official because they’re both “happy” the way they are.

As the couple have been married before, Davina explained that they didn’t need to shake things up by tying the knot, stressing that marriage is ‘off the table’ for now.

Speaking with The sunshe answered “no” both times when asked whether she was engaged to Michael or planned to marry in the future.

She gave her reasons for her refusal and continued: ‘That’s not even on the table, that’s just not there. He’s [married before] so we both just feel happy, let’s not rock the boat. let’s just keep things a secret.

“We’re not interested. I’ve known Michael for so many years [before we got together] that there were no questions to ask like that. I know him. It was easy.’

Davina shut down any further questions about her love life by saying: ‘I love Michael. And I always feel like it’s too precious to talk about it in public. I just want to keep it to myself.’

Davina and Michael were old friends and first met when he styled her hair during her Big Brother presenting stint.

Last January, Davina confirmed that she and Michael moved in together and the couple had already started creating ‘new traditions’.

The Masked Singer judges revealed that her long-time hairdresser moved in with her before Christmas 2022 and that they watched The King’s Speech together with Davina’s sister Rebecca.
