David Warner has had a tumultuous career in the spotlight, but things would have been much more challenging for the cricketer had he not met his wife Candice.
The opening batsman, 36, credits the former Ironwoman champion with turning his life around after he got into a fight with Englishman Joe Root at The Walkabout Hotel in Birmingham during the 2013 Ashes series.
After being sent home without bowling, David found himself with no one to talk to except Candice, whom he had recently started dating.

‘I had no one to talk to. What highlighted that fact was obviously the incident with Joe Root,” Warner said.
That was the big one. I had no support. None at all from anyone, which was difficult. When Candice and I would talk, I had someone to lean on and just talk.
She taught me discipline. Getting up, changing my routine, enjoying the morning, and just doing things she never used to do. Train hard, stay fit, relax. She instilled that in me.

The former national team captain went on to say that Candice “shaped me and made me the person I am today.”

The Warners, who married in 2015, have one of the strongest marriages in sports and share three daughters, Ivy Mae, eight, Indi Rae, six, and Isla Rose, three.

Candice, 37, exclusively revealed to Daily Mail Australia earlier this month the secret to her happy marriage.
The Triple M radio host said that a healthy combination of open communication and mutual support helps maintain their relationship.
“Our romance was a whirlwind at first and for us. We are like any other couple. We are very supportive,’ she said.
The former national team captain went on to say that Candice “shaped me and made me the person I am today.” If it weren’t for her, David said her “career across all three formats” wouldn’t be as successful or enduring as it is now.
“With David traveling so much (with cricket), it’s all about communication. Our relationship has always been built around that.
She went on to say that her husband has the full support of ‘Team Warner’ who backs his career decisions.
‘I support David 100 per cent as a family. If he has the hunger and the desire to keep going, we will be there to support him,” he said.
