I’m A Skin Care Scientist And These Are The Three Sephora Moisturizers I’d Actually Put On My Face: ‘They Work Wonders’
- Cosmetic scientist David Rooney revealed his favorite Sephora skincare buys
- The skin expert looks for specialized ingredients when looking for a moisturizer
A cosmetic scientist and skincare brand owner has revealed the best Sephora buys he swears by.
David Rooney finds himself drawn to the same moisturizers when he needs to supplement his beauty routine.
The skin expert religiously uses First Aid Beauty’s KP Bump Eraser ($48), Peter Thomas Roth’s Water Drench Moisturizer ($85), and The Inky List’s Omega Water Cream ($18).
First Aid Beauty’s product is designed to relieve the symptoms of keratosis pilaris, a skin condition that affects one in three Australian adults.
On the other hand, the other two moisturizers have special ingredients that target specific issues like dull and dry skin.

David posted details about his beauty shopping trip and product recommendations.
“These Sephora products will fuck your skin in a good way,” he said in a video.
“You know that lumpy stuff on the back of your arms?” he asked, referring to keratosis pilaris, a condition that causes small, rough white or reddish bumps and spots on the skin.
He recommended First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser, and it’s formulated with pumice, glycolic and lactic acids, and bisabolol to visibly reduce bumpy and rough skin.
Other David favorites include the Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Moisturizer which contains silicones, and The Inkey List’s Omega Water Cream – a budget version of the previous product.
“A moisturizer with silicone is a winner,” said David.
Silicone is known to improve skin texture, retain moisture and smooth the epidermis. It can also reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
‘[The Omega Water Cream] is a cheaper moisturizer that spreads on your skin like a splash of water,” David added.

Many were grateful for David’s suggestions and promised to try the popular Sephora products.
“Wow, thank you so much for your recommendations,” one woman wrote.
“I use the Omega Water moisturizer every morning and I love it,” added another. “Your skin doesn’t feel greasy at all.”
“My daughter is starting to get red bumps on her thighs – I’m going to try this!” said a mother.
