David Raya joins Arsenal on loan from Brentford with £30m purchase option including £3m initial loan fee

David Raya is reportedly set to join Arsenal on loan with an option to buy from Brentford.

According to the athleticsThe deal will see Raya move to the Emirates for an initial loan of £3m, with the option to make the move permanent next summer for an additional £27m.

Raya has another one-year contract at Gtech Community Stadium which will be extended for another 12 months to facilitate the deal.

The 27-year-old is expected to undergo his medical with the Gunners on Thursday, ahead of a move that will give him competition for starting shot stopper Aaron Ramsdale.

Former Arsenal backup keeper Matt Turner completed his move to Nottingham Forest earlier today to make way for the Spaniard.

The United States international signed a four-year contract at the City Ground in a deal that could be worth up to £10 million.

“It’s a great challenge and a great step in my career,” said Turner, who moved from the New England Revolution to Arsenal last June.

“The manager and back room staff, everything about the club has a little sparkle to it. It felt good from the start and I’m glad it worked out.’
