An amateur boxer and former cyclist has been charged for his alleged role in a late-night brawl that started outside a couple’s dream wedding.
Father-of-two David Padovan, 39, is accused of starting the melee seen outside the Grand Paradiso function center in Fairfield, western Sydney, at around 11pm on Thursday.
Padovan has been charged with a scuffle with police alleging that he was armed with a weapon during the fight.
He was arrested while recovering in hospital after suffering cuts to his hands and face.
Padovan, who teaches boxing to underprivileged children, will plead not guilty and was released on bail on Saturday. nine news reports.
He faces up to ten years behind bars if convicted.

Mr Padovan, a former Hells Angels bikie, was involved in another fight at Sydney airport in March 2009.
The fight left Hells Angels associate Anthony Zervas dead.
Padovan was cleared of two counts of brawling over the fight.
Police were called to the Grand Paradiso function center Thursday night after receiving reports of a fight involving more than a dozen men.
Wedding guests had been partying inside the venue and celebrating the newlyweds before a group took to the streets.
Then it is understood that two men began to argue.

As his teammates tried to diffuse the tension, footage shows one of the men allegedly throwing the first punch, sparking an all-out brawl.
The man who supposedly traded the first punch was quickly kicked to the ground, while another can be seen throwing punches at him.
Footage from the wedding before tensions erupted shows the newlyweds and guests dancing as performers beat large drums.
