David Moyes will end speculation over his future by signing a new contract with West Ham after conquering the Premier League's top six.

The deal, which is expected to last two and a half years, is almost complete. It follows the club's good form this season after Moyes presented the Hammers with their first trophy in 43 years in the Europa Conference League.

Moyes' existing contract is due to expire at the end of this season, but the West Ham board believe the time is right to reward their manager after positive results.

West Ham defeated Arsenal 2-0 on Thursday to finish in sixth place in the Premier League, while the team has already progressed to the last 16 of the Europa League.

Friday marked four years since Moyes returned to the club. They were in relegation problems at the time, but have become permanent fixtures in Europe.

Moyes has long insisted he was comfortable with his current contract situation, but the former Everton and Manchester United boss was known to be keen to extend his stay.

The board previously stressed they would be happy to wait until the end of the season before addressing their managerial situation, but opened talks amid their current run of just one Premier League defeat in their last eight games.

Supporters have criticized Moyes' pragmatic playing style this season, but they have beaten Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Brighton – all with an average possession of 24 percent.
