Sunrise viewers were left scratching their heads on Wednesday morning after host David “Kochie” Koch mysteriously disappeared from the show.

The 67-year-old was replaced by substitute Matt Shirvington after he disappeared after Tuesday morning’s broadcast.

Host Natalie Barr and Matt hosted a special edition of the breakfast show about Donald Trump’s court ruling.

They have not discussed Kochie’s disappearance on the show, but it has been revealed that the TV presenter is in Perth for the Resources Technology Showcase.

At the event, the state’s largest mining and energy companies showcase the latest technology in the industry.

This is not the first time Kochie has disappeared from the news desk.

In May last year, the TV presenter left the news desk shortly before six in the morning during a commercial break because he was suffering from laryngitis.

He had spoken in a hoarse voice at 5:30 am at the start of the broadcast.

His co-anchor Natalie Barr explained his absence to viewers at 5:56 a.m., saying, “You may notice something else.

Kochi came in [and] he fought bravely on for about 25 minutes. He had strep throat yesterday and apparently he still has it. He couldn’t really talk.’

Newscaster Monique Wright said she told Kochie to “have honey for every intro,” but he refused, thinking it could “cause diabetes or something.”

Sports host Mark Beretta, who stepped in to co-anchor the show after Kochie left, joked that his sore throat was due to the shouting over the weekend.
