Legendary DJ and producer David Guetta is setting records instead of making them after selling his Miami Beach condo for $16 million.
Guetta, 56, set a new record for the highest price paid per square foot in Miami Beach history and the second highest in the region’s history when he sold his condo at the Setai Hotel and Residences.
The hitmaker, who has collaborated with the likes of the Black Eyed Peas, Pitbull, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, bought the estate from billionaire Richard LeFrak in 2018 for $9.5 million.
His apartment is located on the 37th floor of the Setai, a five-star hotel in Miami Beach, and offers views of the city, the beach and the sea.
The house has three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, electric shutters and a wrap-around balcony.

During Guetta’s years in residence, the interior was renovated by renowned Italian architect and designer Piero Lissoni.
It also features two master suites with king beds and—for a music mogul like me—high-end speakers throughout the house.
The deal was brokered by Eloy Carmenate, Mick Duchon and Joshua Winarick of Corcoran, who brought in an undisclosed buyer.
Michael Wisenfeld, also with Corcoran, represented Guetta.
The Setai Hotel is a popular hotel in Miami Beach. 22 of the 40 floors are apartments, several of which are two stories.
It also includes a landscaped resort area, gardens, a fitness center, three swimming pools and 24-hour valet parking and security.
Sellers of other units in the Setai Hotel are asking prices between $2.1 million and $14.9 million, while rents range from $16,000 to $84,000 per month.
The news comes after it was recently revealed that Guetta has expanded his family.

The 56-year-old DJ revealed that he and girlfriend Jessica Ledon, 32, welcomed their first child together: a son.
The French-born music producer shared a joint Instagram post with the actress on Sunday, announcing the happy news along with a heartwarming family photo.
The couple — who recently enjoyed a beach day in Miami — also revealed their newborn’s unusual name in the caption, writing: “Love is in the air. Welcome Cyan.” The name means “light blue-green.”
Guetta also has two children with his ex-wife Cathy Lobé, 56. They have a daughter, Angie, 16, and a son, Tim Elvis, 19.
Their family, friends and followers were quick to congratulate the couple in the comments, with David’s son confirming the baby’s gender by writing, “Little brother is getting strong!”, accompanied by a red heart.
Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka commented: ‘So beautiful! I am so happy for you both.
Dutch DJ Tiësto added: ‘I’m so happy for you two!! Congratulations bro!’
They announced the pregnancy at the Latin GRAMMY Awards in Seville, Spain, in November, with David lovingly placing his hand on Jessica’s baby bump.

Jessica showed off her blossoming baby bump in a sheer green dress with a halter neck and a hood.
David looked in high spirits as he cozied up to his actress girlfriend.
The couple started dating in 2015 and David reportedly gave the brunette an engagement ring instead of an engagement ring because he “doesn’t believe in marriage anymore.”
David and his ex Cathy had been married since 1992, but decided to split in 2014. Cathy had been an important business partner with whom the DJ had worked throughout his career.
The couple separated amicably and raised their son and daughter together.
David has won two Grammy Awards, an American Music Award and a Billboard Music Award, among others. Last year he sold his songs to Warner Music for a nine-figure sum.
The French DJ earned around $100 million (£72 million) from the deal, which also covers his future recordings.
