David Beckham has revealed how he ‘attacked’ Sir Alex Ferguson during their infamous dressing room boot-kicking incident.

Beckham will be the focus of a new four-part Netflix documentary that will shed light on the former England star’s career both on and off the pitch.

In one segment of the recently released trailer for ‘BECKHAM’, the ex-Manchester United star appeared to reveal the 2003 incident.

Twenty years ago, Beckham required stitches above his left eye after Ferguson accidentally hit him with a stray boot in the Manchester United dressing room following the Red Devils’ FA Cup fifth-round exit to Arsenal.

During the brief focus of the incident, in the trailer, Beckham reenacts the moment he realizes he’s been hit in the head, saying, “And then I went like that” as his hand moves away from his face.

Then he abruptly stands up from his chair with a quick movement and says: ‘And then I left like this!’.

The producer asks, “You went at him?” In response, Beckham nods and says, “Yes.”

Although Ferguson was known for giving players his infamous hairdryer treatment during team talks, it later emerged that he was targeting a pile of clothes on the Old Trafford dressing room floor.

Reflecting on the 2017 incident, Beckham said: ‘I had made a few mistakes during the game and he came into the dressing room and we had a few words.

‘He started walking towards me and kicked a pile of clothes onto the floor. This shoe came out and it hit me and then I realized how accurate it actually was!’.

During the trailer, the ex-Galactico discussed one of the most controversial moments of his career; that red card against Argentina.

During the 1998 World Cup, Beckham was sent off for kicking the back of Diego Simeone’s leg with his heel in England’s round of 16 defeat.

And in the new documentary, the 48-year-old revealed he wasn’t ‘eating’ or ‘sleeping’ after the incident.

“I don’t think I’ve ever talked about it, just because I can’t do it,” Beckham said. ‘I wasn’t eating. I didn’t sleep. It has taken a toll on me that I didn’t even know about.’

The streaming giants’ new release, titled ‘BECKHAM’, will be a four-part series and will be released on their platform on October 4.
