David Beckham gifts Idris Elba a personalised Inter Miami shirt as British star watches MLS side beat rivals Atlanta United 2-1

Inter Miami’s final match took place at The Wire on Saturday – literally, as British star Idris Elba performed at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

The actor, who found fame as feared drug dealer Russell ‘Stringer’ Bell in HBO’s cult series, joined club CEO David Beckham in the stands as they defeated Eastern Conference rivals Atlanta United 2-1.

A jubilant Beckham, 49, later shared a photo of himself alongside Elba, 52, as they brandished one of the club’s flamingo pink home shirts, personalized with the actor’s surname.

He captioned the Instagram post: “Great night to start the playoffs… a hard-fought win in front of our fans and friends.

“Thank you to all our special guests for coming to Miami and thank you to La Familia for bringing the noise like you always do. On to match 2…’

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. – a good friend of the former Manchester United and England CEO – was also presented with a personalized shirt prior to the match.

Spanish winger Jodi Alba proved to be the difference on Saturday evening. His 60th-minute goal gave Inter Miami another victory after Atlanta’s Saba Lobzhanidze canceled an early goal from Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez.

Inter Miami’s latest win follows an extraordinary run of personal and professional good fortune for Beckham, whose sprawling new Miami mansion, bought for £60 million, was exclusively revealed by MailOnline.

New images show an open-plan living area with a rooftop lounge, a spa with a massage room, a waterfront terrace, along with nine bedrooms and 13 bathrooms.

With light wooden features and marble floors, there are also two powder rooms, as well as a chef’s kitchen and a driveway suitable for ten cars.

Beckham and his fashion designer wife Victoria spent around £15 million on a 10,000 sq ft penthouse in central Miami in 2020.

The upgrade of this new property has now broken records as the ‘highest ever sale’ in the area.

Lined as one of the most affluent and elegant estates in the region, North Bay Road has been home to many celebrities past and present, including the Bee Gees, Matt Damon, 54, Jennifer Lopez, 55, and Miami Heat- champion Dwyane Wade, 42, and Chris Bosh, 40.

The Miami mansion will be the largest asset in the Beckhams’ already substantial property portfolio, which consists of a £31 million mansion in London’s Holland Park; a £12 million rural Cotswolds base and a spacious five-bedroom apartment in Miami, bought for around £18 million in 2020.

The Beckhams’ new palace will provide space for their large family.

Brooklyn Beckham’s father-in-law, Nelson Peltz, is just a short drive away in Palm Beach.

His home – where he hosted the Beckhams for Brooklyn, 25, and Nicola’s wedding in 2022 – is worth £75 million and has direct access to the water and 27 bedrooms.

Their youngest son Cruz, 19, also likes to spend most of his time in Miami with the family and his girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 29, who was spotted taking a boat trip on Friday.

Their other son Romeo, 22, resigned from Inter Miami in January 2023 to join London team Brentford.

Although he left the Premier League B-team in September to pursue a career in modeling and fashion, he is also expected to benefit from the move.
