There’s the red carpet being rolled out and then there’s David Beckham painting a huge mural of Lionel Messi in tribute to football’s greatest star to join his MLS team.
Victoria Beckham shared the images on her Instagram account on Sunday, in which Beckham painted the huge mural on the side of a building in Miami on a crane.
Just a few days in and he started right away! Victoria wrote about her husband on Instagram and tagged Messi. “@DavidBeckham is quite the artist!”
In a separate post, she wrote, “@DavidBeckham feels quote accomplished as he should.”
She then posted on her Instagram story, “So I think David Messi painted really well here in Miami. We’ve only been here a few days and he’s on it right away.

And look, it’s huge. Is there nothing David Beckham can’t do? He’s painting up there, I’m impressed.’
Messi is expected to arrive in Miami on Tuesday to finalize his long-awaited move to Major League Soccer.
He is currently vacationing in the Caribbean with his wife, high school sweetheart Antonela and their three children.
Messi will earn between $50 million and $60 million a year in Miami, with his contract funded in part by adidas, who will give him some of the shirts they sell with his name on them, and Apple TV, who will will share money earned from TV subscriptions to MLS.
Messi, 36, who won the World Cup with Argentina last year, is reportedly signing a two-and-a-half-year contract with Miami with an option for a third year.
Beckham spoke last week about his pride over Messi’s imminent arrival, saying: “A few weeks ago I woke up with about a million messages on my phone.
“I thought, ‘What went wrong? I don’t usually get that many messages.’ Suddenly I hear that Leo has come out and announced that he is coming to Miami.
Of course it wasn’t a surprise to me. I’ve always said from the start that if I had the chance to bring the best players in the game to Miami at any point in their careers, I would. I’ve always made that commitment to our fans.

“So when I hear that one of the best players – if not the best player – who has won everything in the game, who is still a great player, still young and still doing what he does, wants to play for my team, then it’s a huge moment for us.’
Messi will be unveiled on July 16 at his new team’s DRV PNL stadium, along with fellow signing Sergio Busquets – a friend of Messi’s from their time together in Barcelona.
Messi’s first game in Miami is actually scheduled for the newly formed Leagues Cup against Mexican team Cruz Azul on July 21.
But the team desperately needs a star quality Messi injection.
Miami is last in the Eastern Conference and has not won in its last 10 MLS games. With 18 points from 21 games, it is eight points outside the playoff places.
Meanwhile, Messi shared a photo from his vacation in the Caribbean on Sunday, with one showing him basking in the sun with the simple caption “vacay.”
