The death is being investigated as a possible overdose, as a lighter and drug paraphernalia were found near Binzer’s body.
He had recently declared himself sober after a three-year battle with substance abuse.
Binzer wrote on Instagram eight weeks ago: “I am a lover more than a fighter… but the one I should love more instead of fighting with is myself… Mr. Shifty true love # Sober, alive and grateful (sic)’

He appeared on the reality shows Celebrity Rehab and Sober House.
“He was such an incredible man with a big heart,” Arquette wrote. “We shared many of the same struggles and I want his family to find love and healing during this painful time.

In his cryptic final post on social media, Binzer showed his appreciation for “those who stay, even when I try my hardest to drive them away.”
The ‘Butterfly’ artist shared the caption alongside a photo of someone dressed entirely in black, standing among a crowd of people dressed only in white. ‘Real is rare, fake is everywhere,’ the image read.
Arquette is candid about his own struggles with addiction. In 2011, he checked into rehab at the Betty Ford Center for “alcohol and other problems.”
