Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy was rescued by the Nantucket Coast Guard after becoming stranded at sea, he announced Monday.
Portnoy had planned to take a boat ride with his mother, but when he removed his vehicle from the buoys, he discovered that his boat’s engine and fuses were blown.
At that point, the 47-year-old man was unable to steer his boat as it drifted at sea, and he had no working radio.
“No power, no radio, no anchor, nothing. Heavy, heavy winds. And before you know it, Captain Dave is lost at sea,” he said in a video posted to social media.
He said in the video that he sent out a distress signal before a woman heard his cry for help and boarded his boat.

Portnoy says that, incredibly, the woman asked if the two could make a TikTok video together before calling the Coast Guard herself.
From there, ‘four muscular guys’ came to his aid and towed his boat back.
“Captain Dave was halfway to fucking the Caribbean,” he said, adding earlier in the clip that “you boys almost lost Captain Dave today.”
The Coast Guard confirmed the incident in a statement to Boston.com.
“Sector Southern New England received a report from the U.S. Coast Guard Station Brant Point of an approximately 28-foot pleasure craft, owned by Dave Portnoy, that had become loose from its mooring in Nantucket Harbor and was drifting through the area,” investigators said.
Portnoy’s rescue at sea comes after he insisted “tough guy” Donald Trump would easily win the election after surviving an assassination attempt.
The former president and Republican candidate was escorted off the stage by Secret Service agents at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday after gunshots rang out in the crowd.

Portnoy admitted he was on the plane when the incident occurred, but that upon landing he insisted Trump would now have an easy victory over rival Joe Biden.
The Barstool Sports executive posted on X: “Just landed and missed an attempted appointment. Holy shit. What a bad response from Trump. The election is over. He’s the next president. The Dems need to give up. They can’t beat him now.”
“Can we also stop the hate on both sides? This country is tearing itself apart. Let the voters decide. Voting for one side or the other doesn’t make you Satan.”
