Dave Portnoy makes wild Zach Bryan accusation as feud escalates over Barstool ex-girlfriend

Dave Portnoy has taken another angry swipe at Zach Bryan after a UFC fighter revealed he was asked to give the country music star a shoutout in front of his ex-girlfriend Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia.

Fans were stunned on Saturday night when lightweight star David Onama followed up his win at UFC 309 in New York by mentioning Bryan in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.

Onama said he planned to return to Madison Square Garden for one of the singer’s concerts in the near future, a statement that sparked controversy since LaPaglia was in attendance.

But after his victory at the weekend, the Ugandan claimed victory SiriusXM’s Fight Nation podcast that his management asked him to mention Bryan, a revelation that has infuriated Portnoy.

The Barstool Sports founder has been in regular contact with Bryan lately due to his acrimonious split with LaPaglia, who co-hosts the “BFFs” podcast with Portnoy and Josh Richards.

And in his latest explosive rant about the American songwriter, Portnoy branded him a “little, pathetic man.”

“So last Saturday night, UFC New York, Brianna Chickenfry is going to the event, her first UFC event. She’s promoting, she’s everywhere – everyone knows she’s going,” he said in an explosive video on X.

“During the fight, this guy, David Onama, wins a fight, steps in the middle of the ring and calls out Zach Bryan.

“Obviously people are like, ‘Oh, that sucks for Bri. She’s there and they get a shoutout from Zach Bryan.’

“This guy, David Onama, is on a podcast that’s so weird, the podcasters are like, ‘What’s going on with Zach Bryan? Are you a big fan of Zach Bryan?’

The UFC guy said, “I don’t even know who Zach Bryan is. His team contacted my team and begged for a shoutout.”

After playing a clip of Onama’s commentary, Portnoy added, “This little 4-foot psychopath is so pathetic and so lost that they have to beg UFC guys for a shoutout just to try and put it in Bri’s to rub. [face].

“Nobody cares, we know you’re popular Zach. You don’t have to bribe people to say your name, you pathetic little man.’

Earlier this month, LaPaglia accused Bryan ’emotionally abusive’ as she revealed she refused to sign a non-disclosure agreement in the wake of their ugly break-up.

Onama then claimed on a recent podcast that Bryan’s team asked him to name him

‘I won’t take the money [from a non-disclosure agreement] is not just for me, it’s for everyone who has been emotionally abused, it’s for people who are being emotionally abused right now,” she said on the BFFs podcast.

“I’ve been lucky enough to experience this for people who don’t have a support system. This last year of my life has been the hardest year of my life, dealing with the abuse from this guy.

“I’m still scared now, I’m scared of him, my brain has been rewired, I’m scared of making him mad. Last week I didn’t want to talk about it because I was scared.”

Onama has since released a statement on social media amid the controversy surrounding Bryan and LaPaglia.

“Hey guys, it feels like this is being blown out of proportion,” the 30-year-old said.

“A promoter offered me comp tickets to one of Zach Bryan’s concerts if I gave a shout out to his upcoming stadium shows.

“I did it because my teammates love Zach and Zach always took care of them when he played in Denver.

“Zach hasn’t contacted me about this at all. I just supported someone who always supported my team.”
