Dave Portnoy insists ‘bad a**’ Donald Trump will easily win the election after surviving assassination attempt – and slams Joe Biden’s slow response

Dave Portnoy has insisted that “tough guy” Donald Trump will effortlessly win this year’s presidential election after surviving an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania on Saturday.

The former president and Republican candidate was escorted off the stage by Secret Service agents at a campaign rally in Butler after gunshots rang out in the crowd.

Trump, who rose to his feet with blood on his face as he was surrounded by Secret Service agents, later said in a statement that a bullet had “pierced” part of his ear.

One person in the crowd was killed and two people were seriously injured after an attacker fired “multiple shots.” The suspected shooter was also dramatically killed by Secret Service snipers.

According to the Secret Service, the suspect fired from “an elevated position outside the meeting location” and the FBI has taken over the investigation.

Portnoy admitted he was on the plane when the incident occurred, but that upon landing he insisted Trump would now have an easy victory over rival Joe Biden.

The Barstool Sports executive posted on X: “Just landed and missed an attempted appointment. Holy shit. What a bad response from Trump. The election is over. He’s the next president. The Dems need to give up. They can’t beat him now.

“Can we also stop the hate on both sides? This country is tearing itself apart. Let the voters decide. Voting for one side or the other doesn’t make you Satan.”

Portnoy also posted a photo of Trump on his feet with his fist in the air moments after the shooting. He wrote, “The election is over.”

He also criticized Biden for the delay it took for the president to comment on the situation.

Portnoy continued: “How can the President of the United States not say a word in over an hour, while a former President and current Republican candidate just survived an assassination attempt? WHERE IS @JoeBiden?”

This comes after Portnoy criticized George Clooney in a profanity-laced tirade this week for “only now discovering the president is a plant.”

On Saturday night, Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform that he was “shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear.”

“I knew right away something was wrong. I heard a whooshing sound, shots and immediately felt the bullet ripping through my skin,” he said. “There was a lot of blood loss, so that’s when I realized what was happening.”

Trump thanked the Secret Service and other lawmakers for their “quick response” and offered his condolences “to the family of the person who was killed at the rally and also to the family of another person who was seriously injured.”

“It is unbelievable that something like this could happen in our country. There is currently no information about the shooter, who is now dead,” he said.

When he finally did issue a statement, Biden said that “everyone should condemn the incident” and that he hoped to speak to his 2024 presidential rival soon.

In his address to the nation about two hours after the shooting, Biden said he was relieved that the former president was reportedly “doing fine” and that the White House had confirmed that the presidential rivals had spoken to each other.

“We cannot allow this to happen,” he said. “The idea that there is violence like this in America is just unheard of.”

Trump showed a graph of border crossing numbers when gunfire rang out.

The ex-president was seen reaching his right hand toward his neck. There appeared to be blood on his face.

He quickly ducked as officers from his protective unit rushed the stage and screams were heard from the crowd. The gunfire continued as officers attended to him.

The crowd cheered as he stood up again and raised his fist in the air, before being led to his procession leaving the venue.

Shortly after Trump left the stage, police began clearing the venue in Butler.

Barack Obama said in a statement: “There is absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy.

“We should all be relieved that former President Trump was not seriously injured, and we should use this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics.”
