Dave Portnoy admits he ‘freaked out’ after being spotted on a date during Monday’s live broadcast of the Celtics-Heat playoff game.

Images of Portnoy, 47, behind TNT Sports announcers Brian Anderson and Stan Van Gundy with a mystery blonde went viral earlier this week, with the Barstool founder hilariously telling his date at Kaseya Center that they were on TV.

Camryn D’Aloia, a 25-year-old recent college graduate, was later identified as the girl sat next to him as they watched their home team beat the Miami Heat.

Two days after the viral moment, Portnoy started his date with D’Aloia during the latest episode of his BFF podcast with Josh Richards and Brianna Chickenfry – claiming he turned down courtside seats for fear of being seen.

“A very unfortunate set of circumstances, I will say,” he said. ‘Cause… well, I’m still sensitive to the fact that I’ve been out of a relationship for six months, five and a half months, so being seen on a date or with a girl wasn’t what I was trying to do .’

Portnoy announced his divorce from influencer Silvana Mojica in late 2023 after three years together, with the pair previously attending Celtics games before going their separate ways.

As a result, he did not want to protect Mojica’s feelings and avoid being captured with a new woman.

“If you know how I generally enjoy Celtics games [sitting] center court, on the woods, loud, proud,” Portnoy added. “I’m friends with this girl, we’ve been hanging out. It’s clearly not a boyfriend-girlfriend.

“So she’s from Boston [she’s] a Celtics fan. I don’t want to point fingers. I rejected the court [seats]. I don’t want to have my picture taken, I don’t want to be on TV, I don’t want any of it.

‘We walk in, sit down and I immediately know I have a problem. No idea where these tickets were. They are right behind the broadcaster. They were the two worst tickets – and then there’s the reaction, like… what the f**k?’

He continued: ‘We sat down and it was like, “We’re f**ked.” That’s the initial [reaction]. You can see us on the screen.

“I think I told her, ‘Don’t panic, just don’t panic,’ because this girl doesn’t want to be that way. You guys can understand that there is a level of fame that stinks when you are famous. We just wanted to go to the Celtics game.”

Portnoy went on to explain that he had purchased two other tickets for different seats simply to get three rows out of the TV camera view.

Still, it was too late for D’Aloia to avoid any attention, as the graduate received thousands of Instagram requests after being spotted with Portnoy.

‘It sucked. Imagine you are just a pedestrian. She’s a pedestrian and you just get thrown in,” he said. ‘She opened her Instagram and said, “I have 9,000 Instagram requests.”

‘She’s had a terrible time. She couldn’t enjoy the game at all.’
